Old Known Issues in XT2

In order to make them easier to find for Jorgen and to avoid us repeating them, I will try to troll the forums and consolidate all issues and bugs here. I'll do my best to keep it up to
date.
Please let me know if any of these are bunk or have been fixed.

For issues were we haven't found the root cause yet, or information about the problem(s) is very active, I'll try to link the relevant threads. -soma

This only considers functionality already in place, and not missing functionality that is assumed to come later

CONFIRMED BUGS

Energy XT2 VST:
=J8- Various issues listed here

Controller Map:
J15- Automation from plugins to tracks' faders only work if that track is active (highlighted, or monitor on). Perhaps this is intended but prevents Audio track faders from getting MIDI. Plugins cannot control a "Sequencer" audio track's fader but can be used to learn that mapping since they can't monitor/record midi.
J15- If you move a mapped VST to a different Mixer strip, the mappings are lost and you have those blank spots again.
J15- When I opened Classic Delay with MIDI Learn On, I get 4 Mappings without doing anything else; Classic Auto-Filter "auto maps" one knob too.

Shortcuts:
J1- Shortcuts are not saved! They revert to defaults every time you restart.
JL10- Default shortcut for Find and Freeze are the same (and Freeze will take priority)
AG10- Default for add track is mapped to Scandinavian character

Parts:
J1- Audio parts act inconsistant! A part created by dragging a sample to a track does not behave the same a part that is created by dragging a samples into a blank part. Glued parts might even be different from the rest too. Many issues and suggestions; please see link.
J1- Automation for an instrument/effect remains in part even after effect is moved or removed. If you re-add the VST, the automation will not re-apply to that VST. The information is dead data.
J15- Playing too many single sample parts in stretch mode will mute some parts every other bar (file included in link)
JL10- Volume automation is a ms or two late at begingin of clips. Creates click.

Freezing:
J15- Frozen track in a group get out of sync

Sequencer and Editor:
J1- I can't add any event to the after-touch by GUI. It does get recorded from a controller, but when you select a note, the associated AT should get highlighted. Also when you select a note, you should be able to add AT for that note for as long as the note is. The aftertouch should transpose with the note. It should probably be listed by note name in the event list, to match how notes are listed. [Poly AT is a note property, like velocity, when you select a note, the associated AT should get highlighted. Also when you select a note, you should be abvle to add AT for that note for as long as the note is.]
J1- When dragging a midi file to the sequencer, all tracks are set to CH 1 even if they were saved with other channels.
J8- Recording VST parameters (via track header) will only record to one part. [It only records into the part that the play cursor is on at the time you press record]
J8- Using a choke group in a drum sampler will create a click on choking. [Seems to be better but still getting click if I choke the kick in the 909.xtc]
J15- Selecting a sample in a multi-sample part [started by dragging a sample to a track] using the event list does not refresh the object bar.
J15- In the Drum Editor, the graphics are corrupted whenever a drum is added that does not fit in the current Drum Editor window
J15- Parts are only created for a single midi track when the record button is pressed instead of creating them whenever a track passes midi and the sequncer is in record mode. [the information gets displayed the next time you press record instead of right away]
J29- Clicking in an empty CC, Aftertouch, Channel Pressure, Pitch Wheel, or Program Change lane of a midi part in the in-track editor crashes XT2 (but only if you click in the lane right after adding it, before the lane select is closed).
JL10- Using the line tool allows you to draw into other lanes.
JL10- The popup editor always displays the grid relative to the beginning of the part, rather than the beginning of the song. Snapping uses the correct position, but quantize uses the incorrect grid position.[the inline editor grid is relative to the song]
JL10- Sequencer mixer strip for tracks routed to sends show sends for that send, including self. (But send to send functionality not working and not shown in whole mixer)
JL10- Resizing a ghost drum part from the left causes notes to be entered in the wrong place horizontally.
JL10- Ctrl+scroll wheel to scroll keyboard will cause notes that are added to be placed on wrong notes. [expecting to see vertical zoom]
AG10- Recording Volume/Pan/Mute envelopes to an audio track by dragging the value box can cause a crash.
AG10- Scrolling the in-track piano roll by dragging a selection doesn't update the keyboard display.
AG10- [Related to above] Scrolling the in-track piano roll up or down by dragging notes off the page doesn't move the notes.
AG10- Envelope points recorded from the value box always snap to a 16th note grid.


Browser:
J1- Please don't show directories or files that aren't of the folder type (VST, clip, audio folders shouldn't show .txt files etc or directories that only hold non-XT usable files.
J1- In the "settings", I can't set up a folder which have "[" in his name, so I can't assign my "[samples]" folder as my default sample folder. [These folders are accessible in the browser]
J1- Clicking on a folder other than previewed sample's parent after previewing will retrigger previewed sample.
JL10- Previewing slices in audiopool from a rx2 will repeat audio buffer.
J1- On some machines, the browser doesn't display folders in A>Z order [specifically on non-NTFS formatted partitions (in Windows)]

Saving:
J1- Cannot open *.xt from windows. Must open files from inside XT!
J1- Escaping a save dialog [where you choose a file location] by closing the window or pressing esc should return to the save Yes, no, cancel win
J8- Only changing parameters will not make XT ask you if you want to save.
J15- [Must specify file extension when] saving to folders if the path or file name contains a "."
J15- In LINUX, along with non ext3 filesystems, "ntfs" file systems mounted as "read/write" dont work either.

VST issues:
J1- Some VSTs don't display their programs in a list. (Digital Fishphones/Buzz Room for example)
J8- XT does not release memory when deleting components! (drag from .zip, erase, and try to drag from .zip again)
J15- SampleTank2 preAnalysis locks up XT2
*J15- Problematic VSTs in XT2

GUI for GUI-less plugins:
AG10- XT has very small resolution for GUI-less parameter changes (100 clicks?)

Synthesizer/Multi Effect/Classic Arp:
=J15- Ctrl+ select many synth presets, drag them to an empty midi track and you get a sampler for each .xts each with a default program and the .xts. The programs do not get the name of the .xts either. We were expecting just one synth with a named program for each .xts for easy previewing. [program names are correct for the 1st 2 dragged in a session]


Comp View Issues:
AG10- Components added from sequencer are all placed on top of one another.

Rendering:
J15- Closing a "render to track" dialog will still create a small blank .wav on a new track and in the audio pool.
J15- When you select Render, the default location is the last file you rendered, even if it was in another project. There's a big danger of mistakenly overwriting it!
J15- The "Render file" dialogue starts at C:\, you have to navigate all the way down from C:\ to get to the folder you want to use [instead of last folder used].

OTHER CRASH REPORTS AND SERIOUS ISSUES
*J1- Graphics issue (performance related)
*J15- Kubuntu issues
*J15- XT sometimes crashes on some systems if the VST is missing or broken
AG10- XT2 Crashes some systems on exit.


INCONSISTENCIES

Shortcuts:
J1- XT will let me assign the same key command to more than one action in the same functional area (tested in sequencer). XT uses the first action in the shortcut list with shortcut assigned to key. A dialog that at least tells you and prohibits or better, lets you do it and then re-assign conflicting shortcuts would be good.
J1- Please alphabetize the list of shortcuts. (And display shortcuts in main menus?)

Mixer:
J1- The default height of the sends/inserts on the mixer - just so they align which an EQ I'd rather insert piece by piece when required anyway. Makes the mixer take up so much space needlessly

Parts:
J1- Save As (for clips) always starts by highlighting C:\ in the left-hand panel of the window although it opens the first Clips folder in the list (happens in many dialogs)
JL10- Cannot copy and paste note/sample data inside parts or across parts (can only copy/paste whole parts!)
JL10- ctrl+drag copy of envelopes is lane and part limited; you cannot drag to another lane or another part.
JL10- ctrl+c/v do not copy and paste envelope data.

General Sequencer and Editors:
J1- Rearranging tracks in the sequencer is only possible by using buttons on the object bar. In a program that uses drag-n-drop so much this is inconsistent. Ctrl+up/down would fit with xt's model.
J1- I am able to edit frozen tracks, but I still hear the rendered sound (of course). Perhaps add a visual indication that the info has been updated?
J1- XT does not indicate what CC's/VST Parameters are on part/track other than the event editor. Automated params/cc's should be added to drop downs and/or have it's own tree.
J1- I can route audio out to a sequencer that feeds a component (feed back loop), when I click Record, an audio part is created containing "silent" recording; either the recording should work (with suitable precautions against feedback loops) or the routing should not be available.
J1- Right-clicking over Velocity, CC etc lane headers pops up the Context menu but the menu choices (other than Show) do nothing (Rename would be useful)
J1- "delete" (right click) a cc lane or envelope should read "hide" to avoid confusion (the events are not deleted, the lane is just removed from view).
J1- Cannot drag a CC lower than 0 to remove event.
J8- Midi Thru button does not change color in the "light" theme
J8- [All] components will have their name appear twice as "name name" in the [audio track] input select context, where "name" is what you see in the component view.
J8- A user can only use 100 values of resolution for VST parameter boxes (track header, and GUI-less plugins), while high resolution is availble using an envelope.
*J15- Recording from an "audio in" does not compensate for driver latencies. The sound in the recorded sample will be behind the beat by the amount of latency on the sound card's input.
J15- the Audio Part inline Editor Vol/Pan/Mute lanes and the MIDI Part MIDI Envelopes do not show the handles between events if the events are visually close together (<16 pixels?).
=J15- Alt+right click to slice audio only works on a non-edit mode audio track, not in the pop-up editor or an in-line edit track [for single sample clips], and not on samples.
JL10- Control change and MIDI Envelope headers are missing a Mute [M] button, a value display and a vertical value indicator that VST parameter headers have.
JL10- Dragging play loop will scroll seqeuencer tracks up.
AG10- Automation information is tied to lanes by appearance order, rather than parameter index when moved from track to track.
AG10- For Shuffle in the object bar, the 6 of "16" is cut off.

Midi Editor Window:
J1- When I add a controller view, it is not automatically displayed in the Controller Panel, the previous view remains there. Clicking on the name after selecting would be a good way to choose which to make active after adding. [please add stacked and overlay view to pop-up editors]
J29- In the event list, the "h" of Aftertouch overlaps the note number.
J29- The controller lane in the popup editor can cover up low notes. You cannot scroll any further to see them. [Scrollable area should should not be underneath lanes]
=JL10- Keyboard in pop-up midi editor doesn't refresh when scrolling vertically until you click in the editor area. [try using pgup or pgdwn to see]

Drum Tracks & Kit Screen:
J1- Drum triggers should always be at most 'snap' long in the GUI. (Currently I also can make the end of a trigger before the start of a trigger using alt+left)
J1- I can change the length of a drum hit (is this needed?). It can be changed to less than 1, and then length cannot be adjusted w/o alt+over.
J1- In the kit editor, there is no scroll bar, so I can see only the first drums (19 at most in full-screen mode) (I was using the BB Mini preset that someone (sorry, forget who) supplied to us all
J8- 8 bit samples will not play but can be dragged to drum samplers.
J15- I get graphics corruption when I add more drums than can be displayed in the Editor window
J15- On Linux samples are shown in track and drum sampler with full path (in synthesizer too).

Audio Editor:
none

VSTs
J1- Cannot drag components from OS to mixer!
J1- sometimes when you load a .fxb file the preset name is not listed in the VST GUI (until you refresh its display)
J8- loading .fxp always displays the C: drive, on the left, instead of last folder used for that VST. [Seems that in most of these dialogs, the left tree doesn't initially show the folder open on the right]

Multi-effect:
none

Synthesizer:
J1- Able to set sampler zone end key before beginning key.
J15- The "Edit all" button doesn't affect the oscillator section, the effects section, or the zone section.
J15- Sustain pedal (CC64) does not sustain synth.
J15- Ring mod introduces DC offset.
AG10- Cannot drag zone markers with mouse (must use note boxes)

Classic Arp:
AG10- Classic Arp presets (.xta) in the root Presets folder don't show up in the Presets section of the browser.
AG10- Triplet button in Classic Arp doesn't change color to show its state in the Dark look.

Browser:
J1- Can add folders in dialogs like save but not in browser or setup.
JL10- Samples from drum tracks and synths are not shown in the audiopool.
Jl10- Slices from RX2 have no file extension in the audiopool.
JL10- samples remain in audio pool even when they are no longer in song.

Setup:
=J1- Can use the tab key to change focus but cannot use [over arrows keys to [expand] [Actions/folders].
J1- Can add new folder in dialogs like save but not in the setup (or browser), especially needed in "folder"
J1- You can only see the left-hand part of long path names in the window, e.g. for Clips, all mine say C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\XT2 ho. and you can't scroll them or expand the window, to see them and deleting them is hit or miss, too
*J8- Only the first 16 midi inputs work. Inputs > 16 will be shown and can be active but will not work.
J15- You cannot select or change the audio folder's location.

Saving:
J1- Snap settings are not saved with file.
J1- XT2 does not warn when overwriting a file.[Clarification: this applies to saving fxb and fxp files, and Render to wav.]
J29- Songs are saved with their sample's locations as absolute paths instead of relative. Locations should be relative to the project's location. Ideally options to save song and sample folder to a parent folder for just that project, or to save all samples directly to the .xt would be very appreciated.
JL10- Cannot use "N"/"Y" shortcuts to answer Yes/No dialog.

Docking:
J1- When I reselect a dock page all the VSTs are displayed, even those that I have closed

Selecting:
To select multiple items ctrl+click should always be multi select and shift+click should always be range select: (please)
J1- Comp view: shift+click (should be ctrl + click)
J1- Sequencer parts: shift+click (should be ctrl + click)
J1- Midi notes: shift+click (should be ctrl + click)
J15- Browser range: missing (needs shift+click to select all between first and second click)

Controller Map:
J1- Graphic for Controller Map missing on VST editor [was click-able; isn't there any more].
J1- Solo is not map-able.
J1- You cannot map to Drum Tracks [was: can but it won't do anything]
J15- Deleting a mapped component will create empty boxes in the map.
J15- Creating a new program always gets the name "Program". Adding a number would make things clearer.

XT2 VST:
J8- XT2 VST will not use the setup global -> "start with"
JL10- XT2 VST will not remember the setup looks
JL10- qwerty only works in the XT2 vst once a sequencer is added.

FIXED:

June 1
-After you close and reopen the window, every control resets to their minimum when you try to adjust with the mouse
-glue (part context)
-Splitting an Audio part does not split at the correct position (it's about 1/128 early)

June 8
J1- When I click on the CC number in the map it first gets set to -1.
J1- Cannot use plug-ins or sequencer to send, control or learn controllers to Map. Recording a mapped parameter does nothing in affect.
J1- Trying to Dock the Map crashes XT2
J1- a fade-in in the audio editor creates a small DC click
J1- Ctrl+D (duplicate) on a Sampler/Synth in Comp win will throw an error "error: copy() missing in class"
J1- Auto scroll in editors control the sequencer auto scroll not the editor's [now controls both]
J1- {midi editor}I selected some notes and CC messages [using event list] and Ctrl+dragged them; the notes were copied and transposed 5 semitones upwards, as required. The CC messages were also repositioned, and changed form CC34 to CC39 (5 higher). The shortcut for changing CC#'s should not be the same as transpose notes, or should not work if notes are selected. (Rare case of consistency causing unexpected behavior.)
J1- Can now drag vst's from windows to seq tracks [but not mixer yet]
J1- changes to Looks are not saved [only 2 looks to choose]
J1- Name of component is not displayed in map. Need to lay out the maps and see which VST / VSTi / mixer channel they belong
J1- Frozen tracks at certain sample rates were out of sync
J1- Changing ASIO buffer size would crash XT2

June 15
J1- Snap actions have no effect when inside the part editors.
J8- Action for auto-scroll doesn't work when editor is in focus
J8- Extending the start of a drum part will cause new notes to be placed on unexpected beats
J8- Moving a part in the sequencer while its pop-up editor is open makes the pop-up editor go blank.
J1- line tool (ctrl+drag) doesn't work for pitch wheel
J1- If you drag a drum track .xtc to the sequencer while the track's new, empty drum sampler is open, you will never be able to see or edit that kit in the drum sampler editor.
J8- The 4 envelopes ALL simultaneously effect what ever parameters I have listed on the right. Same for LFO's.
J1- Until you pull the drop-down, the mixer has two presets. "Program" and "". "" is dead and will not let you choose what to show.
J1- First midi part in a new sequencer is called "Noname" instead of "midi". Adding a 'dash number' to the end of default names on new parts would be very nice.
J1- When the Event List or Object-bar are visible, their "Show" entries in the Options menu are not checked
J8- In the part editor menu it says "Remeber note length" instead of "Remember note length"
J8- Adjusting the parameter of any drum from the kit editor will always affect the last clicked on drum, no the one adjusted. Display (except for pan) is changed on adjusted drum while sound is changed on last clicked on.
J1- Drum Tracks default to no midi input (should inherit same behavior as midi tracks)
J1- Audio editor has midi editor's "show note names" and "remember note length"
J1- No pitch control in object bar or controller lane for samples in a part [when part is created by drag to track; works for glued]
J8- "Rename" preset doesn't do anything (tested with Synth1) [seems to only be a problem with synth1's unconventional system]
J1- When I Save a song, the Browser tree collapses to the second level
J8- Midi out appears in main's right click menu, but not in the browser "Comps" folder
J1- After deleting a mapped component, a blank space is left where its mapped items were
J1- If you dock [anything] to the Mixer page, there are odd inactive scroll buttons on the right-hand side of the mixer and the docked FX can (partially) disappear when you click on the Mixer
J1- Open/save VST patch say "Open *.fxb" instead of "Open *.fxp" (but the file list lists *.fxp)
J1- Docking a VSTi to a Sequencer page causes some graphics corruption.
J1- "Sequencer volumes" in the mixer not working with the Controller Map. [VST tracks work] You can learn from GUI & learn a controller but the controller will not affect the volume.
J8- Cannot always see object bar in single sample part editor (Have to first select sample, then add controller lane)
J1- You can "push" the docked VSTi underneath the menus and tool bars, then it's stuck. [you can scroll to get to it]
J1- In-line editor: Using Alt+click to add CC data will add events over 230 if you drag down to low or too high above/below lane. [was: if you click below a certain value.]
J1-Changing ASIO Buffer Size crashes when under extreme loads [was when ever].

June 29
J1- After mapping to a VST param, the original CC messages are passed on to the VSTi (so the CC potentially now controls two VST params) [Edited for clarification]
J15- Using the mouse or typing to set a mapped parameter's CC does not keep the parameter from waiting for a CC to learn.
J15- If I make two instances of an effect (Classic Delay for example) and map the same CC to the same parameter on both effects, only one effect gets controlled (the last one that was mapped)
J8- "Length" exists for Normal samples but apparently does nothing in the in-line editor (default to -1). It might affct volume while adjusting? The box was removed from pop-up. the box was removed in all cases.
J15- Stretched out parts in reverse will crash XT if their ends are reached before the end of the sequencer's loop
J15 - When you freeze sometimes the play cursor jumps to a new random position after the freeze. Same for "Render to new track".
J15- Frozen tracks should read the mixer automation on playback.
J15- Some VST's have the wrong pitch in their frozen parts
J15- Line tool doesn't work for Channel Pressure.
J15 - In the pop-up MIDI/Audio Editors, Ctrl+a selects all the notes/samples but does not cause the object-bar to be displayed.
J15- Selecting a sample in [normal] multi-sample part using the event list does not refresh the object bar.
J15 - In the pop-up MIDI editor and [normal] audio editors, Ctrl+a selects all the notes/samples but does not cause the object-bar to be displayed.
J15- XT crashes on deleting a VSTi with an FX feedback loop
J15- Ctrl+ select many synth presets, drag them to an empty midi track and XT2 will crash.
J15- the "Open..." preset functionality both in the preset/program management section and in the right-click context sensitive menu in the "Bank" tab don't allow multi-selection of presets [was, but when you click the [Open] button, only one preset is loaded.]
J15- Adding an audio out comp creates a random cable to nowhere.
J15- Ctrl-clicking on a comp creates a copy of it in the same location, so it's invisible.
J15- Connecting an audio line from a duplicated sequencer will connect the original instead.
J15- Rendering to new track happens after "audio out" faders instead of before. The logic makes sense for render to .wav, but not for render to track.
J15- Frozen tracks are not included in rendering!
J15- Rendering to file or track when metronome is in "playback" mode will add metronome to rendered sample.
J15- when you "Render to new track" sometimes the play cursor jumps to a new random position after the render. Same for Freeze.
J1- When changing tempo, the normal mode audio parts do not re-size until you change focus to the tracks.
J1- The output possibilities for MIDI tracks include "Audio In" and "Audio Out". Audio IN/out [have midi ports but] don't use midi. [these are used for controlling mapped faders with a plugin]
J15- Changing the pitch with object bar of sample in multi-sample part does nothing.
J15- Using ctrl+over to move a sample will also increase volume of part until it loops again.
J15- Changing an audio part's volume envelope will create a flange until the next pass of the part.
J15- If a song is opened by dragging it to the Comp view and an audio folder is already set, you cannot set the audio folder to a new location.
J1- save as... (part context) [added to right click]
J1- undo/redo (sequencer) [added to edit menu]
J1- Presets from the Multi-Effect unit are not recognized in the "Presets" folder [but shows up as an preset in a search]
J15- In some cases frozen tracks click and stutter first time played.

July 7/10th
J15- the knobs do not move on a mapped VST inserted as an Insert FX; the same goes for Send FX.
J29- Parts made by dragging a midi file to a track have note ons tied to absolute song position (note offs are relative).
J1- I can move a part with ctrl+ over, and I can select a track with up/down but I cannot select next part with over or change focus from tracks to parts.
J15- In the pop-up Audio Editors for parts [started by dragging a sample to a track], Ctrl+a selects all the notes/samples but does not cause the object-bar to be displayed.
J1- I cannot select next note or sample with over.
J1- Audio in and Audio out also have option to dock but are not dockable.
J15- Zoom selection zooms correct length but does not reposition screen or play cursor.
J29- The note length for multiple selection is missing in the object bar of the pop-up editor.
J1- I cannot change vel of drum hits or other per hit data with alt + up/down but can in midi editor.
J1- I can move a drum hit off the map with ctrl+up/down
=J15- Selecting segments of an envelope (either VST parameters or CC envelopes) then clicking the move buttons on the object bar for that part crashes XT2 [with a "Woot"]
J29- alt-dragging to add a Pitch Wheel, Program Change, or Channel Pressure event, will add huge numbers of events in the same location. double-click-drag works correctly.
J29- Drag-select in the midi editor also selects CCs & other data (Aftertouch/Channel Pressure/Program Change/Pitch Wheel). It's as if the events are invisible notes. [more info in link]
J1- Program (fxp) name overlaps the prev/next Program arrows
J15- In some cases, using the mouse wheel to scroll the wrapper's preset list can cause XT2 to freeze or just not work properly.
J1- Next/Last program action not working correctly for controller map (probably fixed earlier)

August 10th/11th
JL10 - Window will continue to scroll if dragging a loop locator outside window.
JL10- Envent list will change displayed times when scrolling the list.
J1- VST plugins with several inputs can only be connected with first input with drag, the connection always snaps back to the first input when you drag to input 2 or higher! Works with right click assign. (very confusing for noobs)
JL10- Page up & down to scroll the piano roll up & down only works for the inline editors & not the pop up editors.
J8- Must use list to select samples in a multi sample part [created by draging a sample to a track] (cannot select by clicking on samples)
J1- You can only drag a .xte to the mixer to create a new effect unit. Doesn't work in comp view or sequencer.
AG10- Mapper not sending signals to components since August 10.
AG10- Automation from track to instruments is broken since August 10th.

I'm having sync issues when i open up songs made in older beta versions of XT2 and play it in the latest beta. I load a song, press play and tracks aren't playing in sync (MIDI tracks). I have to rewind to the start of the song (i can do it while it is playing) for the timing to sound correct.

Please help validate the following:
*J15- In LINUX, along with non ext3 filesystems, "ntfs" file systems mounted as "read/write" dont work either.
*J15- XT crashes on loading because of a VST
*J1- Graphics issue (performance related)
*J15- XT sometimes crashes on some systems if the VST is missing or broken
*J15- On Linux samples are shown in track and drum sampler with full path (in synthesizer too).

J15- if you move a mapped VST to a different Mixer strip, the mappings are lost and you have those blank spots again.

more info: this happens even if you drag it to re-order it within the same mixer strip.

J1- I can't add any event to the after-touch by mouse or whatever, but it gets recorded as channel-pressure.

true, you can't add polyphonic aftertouch with the mouse, but that's because it needs a note number attached. both poly aftertouch and channel pressure do get recorded correctly.

J1- Clicking on a folder other than previewed sample's parent after previewing will retrigger previewed sample.

this isn't fixed. to see the bug, you actually have to click on the triangle next to a folder.

J8- A user can only use 100 values of resolution for VST parameter boxes (track header, and GUI-less plugins), while high resolution is availble using an envelope.

this hasn't changed. by using the parameter boxes, you can't get a value other than integers 0-100 (mapped to the plugin's units).

J1- Presets from the Multi-Effect unit are not recognized in the "Presets" folder [but shows up as an preset in a search]

i think this is fixed.

- Adding a midi-only (no audio out) plugin as a send causes a crash.

i haven't tested everything on the list, but here are the items i believe to be fixed as of the july 6th beta:

J1- Next/Last program action only updates the controller map GUI for last program and 8 is mapped to back instead of forward [was: doesn't update GUI]
J29- Parts made by dragging a midi file to a track have note ons tied to absolute song position (note offs are relative).
J15- Selecting segments of an envelope (either VST parameters or CC envelopes) then clicking the move buttons on the object bar for that part crashes XT2 [with a "Woot"]
J29- alt-dragging to add a Pitch Wheel, Program Change, or Channel Pressure event, will add huge numbers of events in the same location. double-click-drag works correctly.
J29- Drag-select in the midi editor also selects CCs & other data (Aftertouch/Channel Pressure/Program Change/Pitch Wheel). It's as if the events are invisible notes. [could be a nice feature if done correctly; more info in link]
J15- Ctrl+ select many synth presets, drag them to an empty midi track and you get a sampler with 2 blank presets [was XT2 will crash].
J1- I can move a part with ctrl+ over, and I can select a track with up/down but I cannot select next part with over or change focus from tracks to parts. (This is a big bother!)
J1- I cannot select next note or sample with over (again, huge bother!)
J1- Audio in and Audio out also have option to dock but are not dockable.
J15- Zoom selection zooms correct length but does not reposition screen or play cursor.
J29- The note length for multiple selection is missing in the object bar of the pop-up editor.
J1- I cannot change vel of drum hits or other per hit data with alt + up/down but can in midi editor.
J1- I can move a drum hit off the map with ctrl+up/down
J1- Program (fxp) name overlaps the prev/next Program arrows

two things:

J29- Clicking in an empty CC, Aftertouch, Channel Pressure, Pitch Wheel, or Program Change lane of a midi part in the in-track editor crashes XT2 (but only if you click in the lane right after adding it).

this one isn't fixed, but i tested it some more and it looks like i described it wrong. the crash happens when you click in one of these lanes while the "Add/remove controller" menu is showing. the lane doesn't have to be empty, and it happens with velocity too, so any non-envelope lane.

to see it, just do New Sequencer, then click on the "+" on the midi track, and then click in the velocity lane while the menu is still open.


and:

i can't find any problem with this anymore. 8 should be back, right?
