Helian -> Helium -> number 2 in periodic table
number 1 in periodic table -> Hydrogen -> Hydragem

Stick with FreeAmp 3, FreeAmp is a good catchy name, so's FrettedSynth. If you stick with it you'll build the name's continuity, recognition and strength.

I like the name FreeAmp too...but this is the second time FS has requested ideas for a new name. Maybe there is a desire to shift from freeware to shareware or something like that? If so, I think that expecting some return on this mammoth project would surely be justified. Or even if Joe just thinks a new name is in order...Newbie Brad wrote:Stick with FreeAmp 3, FreeAmp is a good catchy name, so's FrettedSynth. One more attempted play on Helian:
Hellion: (hel′yən) n rowdy or mischievous person (usually a young man); a person fond of deviltry; mischievous troublemaker; rascal; "he chased the young hellions out of his yard"
Hellion Amp
I guess that's all I got for now
I'll try to think some more on it tonight (magical herbs and such).

yea i agree, also it will help people understand what to expect. no sense in renaming it if you already have popular plug, just increment the numberNewbie Brad wrote:Stick with FreeAmp 3, FreeAmp is a good catchy name, so's FrettedSynth. Yeah - even though pattonfreak came up with a cool name, it's probably best to leave it alone. FreeAmp works.

My vote for name is Freeamp 3. Or you could try these options:
1. vst plugin
2. container(Synthedit.com)
Ha ha! They'd open their host and be like, where is it?

Or maybe a new suffix rather than just FreeAmp3 - to highlight the fact that it's an all new build?
I don't know, something like FreeAmpVGS (Virtual Guitar Studio) or whatever ... sort of like when it was FreeAmpSE for a while there?

Keep it FreeAmp3 or FreeAmp Cubed or ThreeAmp

Anyhow I finally did a test with the I\O FX running with the amp
http://asseca.org/frettedsynth/demos/OverBaked.mp3
Real quick setup and record just figured you all might want to have a listen? Kind of heavy tone with me making a whole lot of noise (my family loves me) was going for a boom\Shhh type of thing
Please don't get too excited about the release there is still a lot to do, and if you can't tell I have been taking my time with this one
Let me know what you think of the tone?
Peace
Fretted Synth

Hey...glad to know the FreeAmp name is staying!! I think that mp3 player has been replaced by ZINF so the FreeAmp name is all yours now AFAIK.FrettedSynth wrote:OK FreeAmp3 it shall be
Just always hated the fact that there is a "Freeamp" mp3 player too? but I guess my use of the name is a bit more applicable.
Wicked shred-tone btw! How's the clean, OD, and crunch tones coming along?
