I got hands on the latest AUValidation Tool that works 100% identical to Leopard's. Zebra passes without problems so I guess that everything is fine in that respectUrs wrote:As far as I know, all systems/u-he are on GO!bmrzycki wrote:Has anyone tried Z2.2b6 on a developer's version of OS X Leopard? Zebra 2.2 beta 7 has just gone out for internal testing. It's been the most horrible nightmare one could imagine (apart from my recent transition to Vista, that is). Simple things like making .h2p the default patch format setting caused a lot of problems. The new "intelligent" (LOL) text abbreviation mechanism kicked in pretty often, also on labels within the gui... sigh... and after lots and lots of little issues it looks like the gui finally "remembers" whatever it should. Also on VST Mac.
And of course, many little things that cause a niggle here and there may have found their solution, such as stronger smoothing for ModWheel, optional PitchBend +/- 0 semitones.
We're closing in on this one!
Cheers,

No big deal tho, I've fixed it and I think that V2.2 release is imminent (= this week)

Hang in there URs, we have platonic geek love for you.
I can understand a little bit how the smallest feature can sometimes cause nightmares. I make simple business apps with FMP, and I have one that randomly autofaxes a number repeatedly infinite times until I manually stop it.
But I don't exactly have time to fix that right now, so umm - I can feel at least a little of your pain!

Update: The fix for Leopard didn't work but I've quickly come up with yet another fix, and 2 sources confirm that it works now... phewww...
Gotta tidy up some windows tomorrow and check out Garageband (the new fix is most likely reverting to incompatibility with GB2)... and maybe we have a release then

Urs,
I'm still seeing the problem with losing midi settings across Z2 reloads. I'm using: OS X 10.5, Intel MacBook, AU Lab 2.0.0, Z2.2b7 AU.
If I set a few learned parameters and then remove Z2 from the instrument rack, here's the midimap file:
When I re-load Z2, the midi learns don't work anymore, but when I look inside the midimap file all the mappings are still there.
Now, when I close Z2 again, there's the following Console output:
And now, the midimap file is empty:
I've tried deleting the midimap file and letting Z2 re-create, with the same problem happening. I tried loading the AU in Bidule as well, and get the exact same problem.

Hi, oh...
the placeholder-thing still has nothing to do with MidiLearn...
I think there might be some problem loading them... I thought I'd fixed that, but maybe not...
Thanks,
Urs

I've just posted a new thread called "Zebra2.2 factory presets" to KvR/Instruments - as a teaser. A highly realistic flute accompanied by a typical DX7 e-piano plus pad. Might only appeal to people of my generation, though...

I think an orchestral bank for zebra would be cool.
I would love lots of nice cellos, etc..
Not that Z makes the best Orch synth, but it would be fun to play with!

I think you'll find one or two such instruments in therekodama wrote:I think an orchestral bank for zebra would be cool.

Not the best orch synth compared to what? Samples? Z2 is infinitely more expressive...
