KVR is a mainly a forum for discussion.
All discussions are text related - and there is lots of text.

The new design in worse for displaying text. The reason why it is worse is that it does not scale with the browser. And that's why it fails for me.

My finger hurts from using so much mousewheel for scrolling and my eyes bleed because i complete loose the overview.
:x

Please include browser scaling.
Sorry for beeing so rude and the critics, but:
I do not want to have my company support forum on a technically unprofessional website.
I'm sure that the other developers think similar. Otherwise we must move somwhere else.
My god! The new design is making the text all funky colored, too! :-o

Post

Must agree... the old design was WAY better / easier to read...
...me wants old design back! :D :help:

I like the addition of the music tracker to the page.

I'd suggest using the same color font for the 'latest + to the plugin db' info as you used for the dates in the music tracker. It is much easier to read, especially during a rollover.

Post

I like the new color scheme, to me its quite slick...

but I too demand variable width!!!!!!!

and why the extra mouse click for the quick reply?
I used to think the internet was going to unite mankind. Now I realize the internet is perhaps mankinds greatest wasteland of bickering, greed, and narrow minds. " And we all shine on, " Imagine that.

Post

The new forum looks great i think.
Only one thing missing, variable width please, thank you.

Another issue,

These MP3 icons on the "latest music posted..." are way too BIG and BRIGHT.

Whenever I read a text that is on their level, all I see are the buttons.

They should be a lot more discreet, maybe try and remove the while idea of a round button, and just disaply "MP3" using the discreet gray color.

Pardon my photoshopping skills.

Dayum I didnt even condisder that part of it! Does anyone know why these updates had to be done now and what the main reason behind them is? There must be some twisted logic behind this.. I mean if your gonna make such drastic changes at least USE SOME AJAX so we can get varying size and or customizable site..

BTW the site is coming up as having Invalid Markup via a W3C test..
http://validator.w3.org wrote: This page is not Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional!

Result: Failed validation, 7 Errors
Encoding: iso-8859-1
Doctype: XHTML 1.0 Transitional
Root Namespace: http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml

Validation Output: 7 Errors

1. Error Line 95, Column 286: end tag for "img" omitted, but OMITTAG NO was specified.

…t='90' alt='' title='' border='0'></a><div id="beacon_891" style="position: a

You may have neglected to close an element, or perhaps you meant to "self-close" an element, that is, ending it with "/>" instead of ">".
2. Info Line 95, Column 173: start tag was here.

…sequel-music.net%2F' target='_blank'><img src='http://www.kvraudio.com/banner

3. Error Line 329, Column 18: ID "beacon_384" already defined.

</script><div id="beacon_384" style="position: absolute; left: 0px; top: 0px; vi

An "id" is a unique identifier. Each time this attribute is used in a document it must have a different value. If you are using this attribute as a hook for style sheets it may be more appropriate to use classes (which group elements) than id (which are used to identify exactly one element).
4. Info Line 94, Column 18: ID "beacon_384" first defined here.

</script><div id="beacon_384" style="position: absolute; left: 0px; top: 0px; vi

5. Error Line 95, Column > 80: XML Parsing Error: Opening and ending tag mismatch: img line 95 and a.

….kvraudio.com/a/adclick.php?bannerid=891&zoneid=10&source=&dest=h…

6. Error Line 95, Column > 80: XML Parsing Error: Opening and ending tag mismatch: a line 95 and div.

….kvraudio.com/a/adclick.php?bannerid=891&zoneid=10&source=&dest=h…

7. Error Line 339, Column 7: XML Parsing Error: Opening and ending tag mismatch: div line 69 and body.

</body>

8. Error Line 340, Column 7: XML Parsing Error: Opening and ending tag mismatch: body line 67 and html.

</html>

9. Error Line 340, Column 7: XML Parsing Error: Premature end of data in tag html line 2.

OK Ben, just because eBay and MySpace have changed their look, doesn't mean you have to jump on the bandwagon too.

Holy crap that's a lot of negative feedback. Usually I'm quick to criticize web design that I think is bad, but to be honest I don't think this is bad enough to warrant much criticism, let alone stuff like "unprofessional". :o All because it dropped variable width!? Tell most graphic designers that fixed-width is unprofessional and they'd sneer you out of the room, then sneer at you while you're gone for hours or days.

Of course, they're too dumb to be able to use a website. Pfeh.

This website just does way too much. Trying to style and design it must be hell; followed by the heller hell of "customer" feedback.
Surely there must be consensus by now...
