This is what you need to do if you are in the same boat as me:
1) download the update from NI. unzip the EXE from the zip. Put it on your receptor in "My Documents" (or anywhere really).
2) Launch Receptor Remote
3) SSH into your Receptor as root
4) navigate to the dir where you put the exe
5) type this command: export DISPLAY=:1
6) then do this one: wine 'Massive 1.1.2 Setup.exe'
7) the installer will run. Answer the prompts on the Receptor Remote display. deselect everything except "vst". Take the default for the main install folder, then put the VST folder to C:\Program Files\VST Plugins\Unsupported Plugins\Massive
* the installer WILL throw a few wine exceptions back to the SSH console but don't worry about it.
8 when it's done, launch the service center (from SETUP page, Run Utility bottom). Cancel the "looking for connection"...Pick offline mode. When it finds massive, select it to authorize and click next.
9) launch Regedit on your PC and navigate to LocalMachine/Software/Native Instruments/Massive. The number displayed in "SNO" is what you want to enter in Service Center on the Receptor. Then you'll save the "ActivationRequestFile.html" file on the receptor.
10) copy that file to your PC and edit it (with notepad or something). Do a find on the word bundle...the first one you find is empty...find again..when you find it with a big number after it, you'll notice that this is your K4 serial number. Change it to your K5 serial number, which again you'll find on the pc Regedit screen in the BundleMember entry for Massive (yes, confusing name...it should be BundleParent shouldn't it)
11) save that html file, then open it with a browser (Firefox recommended, since IE is from the devil himself)
12) follow the instruction and log in to NI and generate the "ActivationReturnFile.naf". Save it to the PC, then copy if back to receptor (My Documents is good)
13) back on Receptor service center, click import and select that file.
14) Poof. You are authorized. Close service center.
15) go to the setup page and install as normal unsupported plugin
The first time you launch massive, you'll have to be patient while it builds it's patch library. After a few minutes, all the cool "Kore-like" patch browsing and stuff will work.
There are probably several other ways to get this to work, but I did this just 15 minutes ago, and immediately documented it, so I'm sure this will work if you fall into the same boat as me: again I have full K4 (and service center) already on the Receptor and K5 on the PC.
And now I have Massive on the Receptor. wooohoooo!!!
(disclaimer, I have played with it for 5 minutes and it seems stable, but stay tuned to this thread where I will report any noted instabilities if I find them).
IT'S MASSIVE!!!!
