If you can't hear it than it's obviously not the type of choir sound you want. Actually it's the first sound you hear in the demo, t's more a subtle synth-choir-pad (that's what I meant with soft choir) rather than that real male voice ahh thing. I think I'll leave it to Howard and Michael to recreate that, they are way better than I am at doing that stuff.

Load one of Zebralette's "UH Bad Vocal Sample" into Zebra. Slow down the MSEG modulation of the vowels. Apply some filtering...

I might try that myself later...

I was going to try this today but I don't have that patch. There must be some zebralette bank(s) out there somewhere I don't have.

Huh? They should be in the SFX directory...?

oi...sorry, it is there. I just don't know what i'm doing. Please to tell me how to load it in zebra.

<feeling clueless>

Just copy the file from the sfx-folder of Zebralette to a preset folder of Zebra, because it is a .h2p file which Zebra can read. I did it myself because I'm loving choir-sounds and would like to rebuild them from scratch to have any modulation I want on it, which would be impossible with samples.

thx!

please let us know your results with the choir-sounds.

Try "HS Choirt Earth.h2p" (no time to make an mp3 demo - sorry!):

I'd call it a "soft choir" sound, but if you find it too gritty, edit EQ1 to taste (or even disable it).

Quiet Earth is one of my fav movies 8)

The patch is again pretty outstanding!

I really don't want to compete with Howard (he's a real wizard when it comes to sound designing!), but I share some of my trial patches for Zebra choirs. Any suggestions or improvements are very welcome!

I like choir8 a lot!

Inspired by Howie's patch:

Move VCF6 into the second channel and right-click connect the input to channel 1 so that it gets input from VCF5. Make Return1 as loud as Master.

Then set VCF6 Drive to 0 and play with Cutoff and Res. You get a lot of different vowels out of that!

(but take care of your speakers... some frequencies may be boosted dramatically...)

Cheers,

;) Urs

Thanks Urs! Nice improvement, now I can get more variety of ouf this patch. That's why Zebra is one of my favourites!

Url of the above proposed changes, with XY1 mapped to VCF6 cutoff and resonance. Enjoy. :)

Yeah, my name isn't exactly friendly. Thanks for giving me a good belly laugh in the morning!

BTW, my patch is flawed. I accidentally mapped both VCF6 cutoff and resonance to X. I meant to map VCF6:Resonance to Y1. I think that's simple enough for people to change so I'm not uploading a second one.

Some really nice work there, guys. :tu:
