Pace has had a reputation with taking down computers left and right, even with iLok. I personally have had no trouble with it, but the simple idea of copy protection is a sham I think. There is a technical aspect and a sales and marketing aspect. On the technical side, the PACE interegration for Receptor does not change anything for the Windows platform. If they decide one day to use PACE on Windows they would have to start pretty much from scratch. So you have nothing to fear on this side.Muff Wiggler wrote:My concern is that these 'clean' plugin developers will, having implemented PACE in their plugins for Receptor, migrate the CP scheme onto their native PC plugins. After all, the integration is already done, why not gain from stronger protection on the native platform too.
I wish Muse the best of luck, and I hope Receptor is a success, it's a great idea - I just hope those of us who stay on a native platform don't see more PACE'd plugins heading our way from our favorite devs.
