as soon as you turn receptor on, and you see the Monitor flicker start hitting the "e" button.

You could use "RECODE" in Linux, BSD or any other *NIX to convert a "Windows" registry file into a "WINE" friendly version.
since some of those KEYs can be quite insaine and LONG!

recode ucs-2..ascii nameofyourfile.reg

then import it in the WINE registry.

A great tip! Furthermore you could achieve the same thing in Windows with any decent text editor, UltraEdit for example. Just open the file, convert it to Unix format from the dropdown menu and save. Then import it in WINE Regedit.

Would be GREAT to get Battery 3 in there somehow! There seems to be a conflict between Kontakt 2 (installed via Service Center) and Battery 2 mrpk (see here) so I might as well just start trying installing Battery 3... anyone managed to do this?

I now have Reaktor 5 running on my rev. B. Thanks to bekenone and Hybernation for the tips! The only issue I've encountered so far is that the sample players such as Vectory don't seem to run. Has anyone else seen this?

first off.....you NEED "ram".

but "RAM" would help out if your going to using it for "sample or buffer" glitch thingys.

I have 2GB in my receptor so it doesn't seem to be that. The samples actually play, it's just that the sequencers don't run when you enable the ensemble then hit play. Do ensembles such as Vectory and Newschool run on your system?

Looking further into this, it seems to be more of an issue of ensemble design. Loading the same ensembles into another hosted environment (Live 7), the same issues exist. A separate control is required to trigger the start/stop of sequences in this situation.

yes, Vectory and ALL the rest of the drummachines.....but not when you press the play button in Reaktor.
it syncs to MIDI or UNIWIRE clock.

I'm not having this problem.
be sure to set the sync in "Setup" because its not automatic.
As of right now I have used Uniwire and or Midi clock with WinXP and OSX 10.4 running the following Hosts:

LIVE 6
Protools 7.3
Renoise 1.8 - 1.9
Logic 7
AU Lab

as well as the Roland MV-8000 as Midi Clock Master.

Yes, using via Uniwire would slave to the external host clock. Trying to run Vectory, etc. on Receptor alone though is not possible until you can send the correct trigger to the sequencer. You can observe a simliar result loading up Vectroy as a VST within Live, etc. With Live's transport stopped, try to get the Vectory sequencer running. When loaded as a VST, Vectory's sequencer seems to be triggered by the song position macro which depends on the host clock. Receptor running as standalone doesn't seem to provide this.

it seams the Receptor is a "clock slave" that passes "master clock" thru it?

I've been playing around more and it looks like an external device is required to send midi system realtime messages (ie. start = 0xFA) to trigger the sequencers. The 1.6 release notes have a section that mentions the passthrough of realtime messages to VSTi's that can receive them including Reaktor ensembles. Initially when I upgraded to 1.6 I must have missed this since it wasn't relevant at the time but one of the guys over at the Reaktor forum reminded me about it. I have a Roland PK5a which can send these messages and Vectory, etc. starts and stops without issue. With the latest OS, my Novation SL can now send these messages as well.
