Free EVE 2 upgrade for Receptor

Liqih,

I can hardly wait for Saxlab2! I hope it works on Receptor. If you need a beta tester, I would love to do it.

On another note, my e-mail server is down right now and I cannot receive emails (probably until Monday when my people can get it up and running again). I guess I will have to wait until then to get my EVE2 Serial Number from you.

Can I get confirmation that others besides OGG is getting this to work? I am still getting a AddDescription [971] error.

I can only guess 971 is a line of code somewhere, I've been looking to see if there is some format that I am missing. My EVE2-custom-info.xml says

Code: Select all

<?xml version="1.0"?>
	<vst-plugin-info version="1.2">
	<vst-plugin-name>EVE 2</vst-plugin-name>
	<vst-plugin-vendor>Dash Signature</vst-plugin-vendor>
<vst-plugin-description>EVE II</vst-plugin-description>
	<struct-aeffect>
		<uniqueID>9999</uniqueID>
	</struct-aeffect>
</vst-plugin-info>
Im not new to Unsupported Installs so this is getting personal! :x

BTW, same results without the vst-plugin-description tag.

can't get EVE 2 installed...

I did it step by step as described.
I'm being asked for DATA FOLDER.

but next, EVE says ERROR Code 1 ... problems with "Solina 1.DASHsnd" (and others)

what's going wrong ??
it's really a pity that it won't work!

Post

Did you copy the EVE Data folder from the Samples/Dash Signature/EVE directory to the unsupported install directory?

It seems I had the same problem you are having when I put the EVE Banks folder in the Unsupported directory (this is the one the Luigi supplied), but not the EVE Data folder from the Sample directory.

Make sure you move EVE Data from samples, and place EVE Banks inside that EVE Data folder.

sure.
I copied the EVE data folder to the unsupported install directory.
replaced the old EVE Banks with the new EVE Banks.

next I copied the .dll-file and un-installed EVE (1)
then tried to install EVE 2.

and here the problems begin... weird...

btw: where did you include the customized .xml-file suggestd by Olle ? if at all..

Post

ok.. tried it once again...

now, I don't have the problem anymore with those single files.
but: after "finding" the EVE Data folder and cklicking "OK" my RECEPTOR says: Install FAILED..
it just ticks me off :x

Ok, so now we are on the same page of frustration. LOL.

I did use the custom XML file. I deleted all hidden files, dropped in the XML file, rebuilt the cache and still nothing.

If you look in the Reports directory, and look at the "System Log.txt", scroll down to the end, you will see why it is failing. Can you tell us what error you are getting?

I am getting this:

"Dec 29 15:31:12 FireReceptor rm-host: HostPluginList.cpp::AddDescription[971]: REJECTED - '/c/Program Files/VST Plugins/Unsupported Plugins/DASH Signature/EVE2/EVE2.dll"

A new DLL from Luigi with a new ID number worked perfect!

I deleted all the old and failed DLLs (including the hidden ones) dropped the new DLL in the Unsupported plugins directory I had created for EVE2 and Bingo! It worked!

Thanks Luigi for your time. A rarity among developers to be sure.

Installation worked for me too (after two failed attempts)! With the .dll that was sent to me (named EVE_2##id.dll) I didn't even need to move the EVE Data folder.

Many thanks to Luigi for the free update.

I can't do it. I tried to follow Ogg's instructions, but don't know how to make the .xml file.
Now I can't open EVE2 and it totally freezes my Receptor GUI.

When I installed EVE2 with the .dll that Luigi sent me I didn't even have to make the .xml file. Only create the EVE2 directory to put it in.
But you do have to have the old version of EVE installed.

Well, I followed the instructions from earlier in this post...

EVE (1) was removed ~ now what?
