I have been noticing an increasing number of VSTi's having "windows installers" that are an msi file, not an exe. I'm guessing that Direct Install will not address this at all, which would be a bit of a drag.

About damn time! I respect Muse initially setting the Receptor up the way they did, by not utilizing Windows installers, but good heavens, I want to run ALL of my plugins!!
THANK YOU MUSE!!!
(Now hurry up and ship me my Receptor back with its long overdue upgrade, pretty please!)

Hi
This is GREAT news...in particular, I hope this means I will be able to install the later version
of SfzPlayer which supports the .sfz format "sound sets" and also the ogg vorbis mp3 files.
When I bought a Receptor at the end of last year, I knew it had Sfz installed and I foolishly assumed
it would have the latest version of Sfz. But NO it didn't, it had an old version, and it's not possible to
upgrade/install to the new version.
Consequently I've had nearly 3 grand of Receptor sitting in its box while I decided what to do.
For those not familiar with the .sfz format, you can basically create/write sound sets using a text editor.
I want to create some custom sound sets from my bigger sample libraries, converting portions of
them to ogg vorbis, producing good quality sound sets with a small memory footprint.
Cheers

I'm pretty sure MSI support is included (Windows Installer 3.1).

Hey Ben, can you tell us if the non-dongle Arturia plugs have successfully installed? If that's the case then I'm one happy Receptor owner, and my instrument would be complete!Ben [KVR] wrote:I'm pretty sure MSI support is included (Windows Installer 3.1).

I wonder if this is what the 1.7OS is that some of us have received over christmas period? I think this will cause many many happy faces on here, especially for people who use loads of plugs. I almost feel guilty that I only use 3 or 4 on mine :p

1.7 will be required, along with a new version of Receptor Remote that facilitates Direct Install.c3boy wrote:I wonder if this is what the 1.7OS is that some of us have received over christmas period? Keep in mind that the non-dongled Arturia plugs still have to "look" at the CD when you run the installer (even if you run the installer from the HD and not the CD). That's their form of copy-protection, making sure you own the CD. It also ask for the CD when you import banks for sounds (which is greatly annoying!) Ben, do you know if the "mounted CD over network" feature makes the mounted CD look exactly as if it were local to the Receptor?Ben [KVR] wrote:I don't know.gizmostatic wrote:Hey Ben, can you tell us if the non-dongle Arturia plugs have successfully installed? If not, then you would still need to temporarily install a CD physically as well-documented here: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=179044
