Paul Stewart wrote:I purchased the product in good faith having read some great reviews about the sheer sound quality. It was only after I had been using it for a while that the stutter issue became apparent. I made some enquiries and a bug was confirmed. Several hosts seem to highlight the same problem.

It was widely known that an update (for this issue and a Mac version) was due early in 2008 - and we are now nearly in May.

I think it is disguting and totally wrong for us to be in this situation. Whatever 'troubles' Lennard may have he should make contact on this forum - or get someone to do so on his behalf.

Good bye Sylenth. Rest in piece.
Mr. Stewart: it does seem unfortunate that there have not been any updates from the developer, and I would be lying if I said that I don't have any hesitation about buying the product myself until he is heard from again. Nonetheless, to speak in such absolutes as "Whatever 'troubles' Lennard may have he should make contact on this forum - or get someone to do so on his behalf" is to divorce ourselves from the possibilities of what can happen in life.

I can tell you that, years ago, when I lost my relationship, had all my computers die of technical problems (with little chance of getting them repaired for months due to the remote location at the time), discovered I had a rare and untreatable (though not very severe) medical condition and suddenly found out that my best friend had committed suicide all in the span of a few weeks (and following a summer where one of my parents had, had a heart attack and recovered as well as had another friend be killed by a truck driver) that I could not have been expected to maintain a reliable and consistent routine or make communicating with others a priority. Looking back on it, I am surprised that I handled it as well as I did but it wasn't easy by any stretch of the imagination.

I pray that nothing of this severity is behind the communication difficulty in this case but I would simply ask that you use your imagination and compassion to open to the possibility that there may be very good reasons for the communication blackout. I am not saying that you should overlook the difficulty it causes you or avoid finding other solutions or even that you should buy the next product by the developer if you feel like you can't count on them anymore. I am simply saying that we don't need to be so harsh in our language and that we can acknowledge the problem and advise against doing business until it is remedied without making it personal about Lennard.

Likewise I hope that nothing awful has happened to Lennard. So, by that token how can this not be personal? After all he IS 'LennarDigital' and no one else can be accountable (it would seem).

Come on folks - smell the coffee... (as we say in England).

Lennard's last post was 28 March, the last one before that 27 Feb. Today it's still the 27th. Maybe it's time for another appearance?

I wish Lennard well and hope he is not ill or worse.

Edit: Just sent him a PM and an e-mail to his KVR link.

I sort of half agree with you here. But taking his eventual personal problems into account, when we don't know anything, is complete and utter rubbish.

We don't know anything what's going on, and this is the only cause of this thread.

I find it far more likely that he got tired of the project/hit a coding brick wall too difficult to get over/synthedit was more involved than just the gui/he got sucked up by another company etc, far more probable than he his whole family/friends getting ill/run over by cars. Reason is I believe this is because of the pattern. He didn't drop out at once. He dropped out gradually, with the same echo-ing question 'Hey Lennard! How is it going?' in the forum.

Speculation, of course. And he might as well been abducted to Trantor by now. But I just find it highly unlikely. I've also written to Monsieur Lennard, and asked him kindly about status. As expected - not a word. There was a weekend of course, but at this point, I am not really sure if that can be taken into account.

And another point. Grymmjack said he teamed up with the Chainer coder. Well, although Chainer is indeed a fine piece of software, that software is the pure definition of abandonware. Last update October 2002.

Hi there, sorry for my absence on the forum here lately. I've been very busy with the Mac version of Sylenth1 and with some personal things that needed my attention. Anyway, ofcourse I haven't stopped developing but I did run into some unforseen problems that made progress slower than expected unfortunately (nothing that can't be solved though). Hope you understand and hang in there just a little while longer!

Good to hear from you Lennard! Sylenth is one of the most enjoyable and best sounding synths I have, anything you put out I will purchase.

Good to know all is OK.

I am very intereseted in the non SE version, as is everyone else, but as everything is working fine here, I can happily wait as long as it takes. I expect the Mac users and people awaiting bug fixes are more anxious though.

Unforseen problems yes isn't that always the way with software. :)
