How about half a tab? Actually, at least More OSC1-4 tabs could easily be half the size they are - you could even fit labels like mOSC1 in there. So they would take the same space as 2 tabs now total. And Mod Mappers could take the space of 1 tab (MM1/MM2).Urs wrote:Hmmm... interesting thoughts... keep them coming!
It's gonna be difficult to make them bigger... I also don't want to waste a bottom tab for them. Didn't think they'd be important enough either...
You would even have 1 more full tab space free than before.
Or, even - combine all four More OSC's into one tab, and make the OSC1-4 choosable inside the tab itself like you have for the MSEG's. Could be so for the Mod Mappers as well.
Don't get me wrong, the Mod Mappers are totally usable as is, but I can see why people would like to have precision adjustment.

I think the initialize preset in the latest beta has a mod delay active (a slight chorus), this wasnt active in earlier versions.
Not sure if by design or accident.. i prefer the old way (only a blank saw preset with no effects)

It's by design, but I'll take the ModFX out of the init patch...Superballoon wrote:I think the initialize preset in the latest beta has a mod delay active (a slight chorus), this wasnt active in earlier versions.

Well the tab at the bottom is by far the best solution, but if you put the range/modulator selectors above the partials, you can stretch them about 30% to the full width of the module.
In addition, you could have a zoom in/out that makes the partials view get more wide and has a horizontal scroller.
Still kinda clunky, but beneficial if you are all against a new tab for them.
BTW, instead of "More" on the tab names, you could use + or just take out "More" since it's kinda redundant...

This is kinda double treat for me since i didnt have time to put my head into the previous beta with the scaling gui and stuff. So in my eyes its a pretty huge update

Here's what speaks against a dedicated tab: The Modmappers are "meta modulators", they take another modulator as an input. You will always want to see the original modulator together with a meta modulator. But as the MSEGs are supposedly a very important source for remapping, having the Modmappers in a bottom tab would screw this.
Hmmm... what do you think about that?

But I still don't see what harm could come from more precise MM adjustment?
And I think you CAN see the original moudulator at the same time, unless it's a MSEG/ARP of course.
Butbutbut, a Zoom button and a magical zooming GUI would also be very nice instead of a tab.
Anyyyway, just leave it for when you feel like doing some GUI stuff, if you want to do it at all...
