Nice instrument. thanks a lot for that freebie.

Any opinions on the demosounds? I still can't dl them, tried at work as well - it still is a pain in the arse.

Interrupts always at 8 mb, at home at different levels, never more than 73 mb, then starts again, dl-managers don't work either.

:x  :P

I just went through the whole download at my place(20min) and it works fine.

Could you try using Firefox ?
Which country do you live in ?

Thanks, much appreciated!

I'm in Germany, tried with Opera and Firefox and Flashget at home, with IE at work - both in different areas in Berlin, so it's unlikely it's a backbone-problem with DSL somewhere.

Strange enough that no one else posted problems with dl that demosoundbank.

Nevermind, seems to be a problem connceted to my location(s) in some way - might try again in a week :-)

have a nice sunday (ups, it's saturday actually!)

Hi, I'm in Italy.
Even here there's been a dl issue (the site was stuck / unreachable), but just for one hour. Maybe a server overload, due to multiple concurrent downloads...?

Btw, I've installed the product. No problems so far...!

Hey thoshu,
you're not the only one. I'm in Germany too, and can't download the soundbank, not even with a download-manager. Never get further than 20mb. Tried it a hundred times.
What could the problem be, Olivier?

Post

Good to know, ViktorW.

Tried it a couple of times yesterday and today with no avail.

Ah yes,

usually there is some way of compensation for a beta tester. Bugs as weighty as the ones already meantioned tell me that this product would need some serious beta testing which is real work. After that there could be a public beta test to iron out the last incompatibilities. Just to clarify that as you might not know what we're talking about here.
So relax with your bitch slapping. 8)

My point is that as far as beta testing goes, they made the choice to offer it up as it is for us to test it. Who knows, maybe they don't have the resources to do the "normal" beta testing that happens. Maybe they wanted to get to the problems quickly as Plugsound Pro has been broken for more or less a year now. Anyway, I hope that they get this thing ironed out and bring some more sample libraries to the fold. What I would like to see is:

1. More acoustic and electric guitars:
The plugsound library is a little weak in this area. Check out the acoustic guitar that comes part of Apple's Jam Pack 1. That thing is sweet and delicate. I wish that you guys would do more realistic acoustic instruments.

2. Better synth sounds:
Synth anthology is pretty good, but it sounds "closed" or lacking air in a lot of the samples. Actually, the sampling process of most of the plugsound library seems a little "dark" and closed in. That helps to keep the songs balanced in a mix, but makes it some work to get the sounds to hold their own in a mix.

3. Better pop/hip-hop/r&b drum loops. The included loops in the plugsound library were probably hot in the 90's, but now there a little cheesy. Like it or not, this type of music sells boxes.

I miss the old interface of Plugsound Pro vs the new one. I liked having everything on one screen. The new interface could possibly be faster after you get to grips, but it looks a little simple. I agree with a previous poster that the Plugsound Pro interface has some wasted space, but damn it sure looks sweet.

One more thing:

When you select an EQ preset, a FLAT EQ needs to be one of the options. The current eq presets (the same ones in Plugsound Pro) are over the top and distort something silly. Fix that and I'm a paid customer.....well fix some of the other issues too and I'm a paid customer....

@thoshu: download now worked, finally, with IE7.

@OTristan: Do you also take note of all the feature requests that have been mentioned so far, for future updates?

oliver, did you see my response on page 14?

Does anyone else wanna chime in an automation for this bad boy?

In logic I end up creating 3 channel strips in the arrange for one voice. I start with a midi track, then add an aux track to be able to change the volume independent, and then, say if I want to automate a filter, I have to create an midi instrument track to send midi cc's to the UVI. This gets really redundant and bloated after awhile. If we could have the ability to send midi cc's in the automation window in logic i could stick with one channel strip.

and before i suggested 128 cc's. but really it probably should be for all 16 channels so things are more efficient.

We may go the same way that NI did, with 128 unamed automation, then have the possiblity to connect those in the plugin.

Still I prefer MIDI CC as it's sample accurate as opposed to automation in VST for example.

Of course yes :)
Those may not end up in the first release but still we take notes.

What do you mean by a flat EQ ?
There is an 8 band EQ

Or are you talking about linear phase EQ ?

I'm sure that you can add some "air" using a widener, a nice resonant filter and a very subtle analog chorus.
Synth anthology was not focused on wall of sound type of sound as it sounds great played alone but usually don't fit at all in a mix.
But you can for sure have those kind of sound with some layering and subtle FX choice.

Regarding other soundbanks, that's what uvisoundsource is all about.
