Uniwire problems!

Hi!

I'm a new Receptor-user(about a week, Komplete inside) and I've run into some problems with Uniwire. I've installed it on my host computer and successfully mounted it, but when I look at the Receptor HD, there's no remote control-folder! Everything else seems to be there, but not that. I'm running Cubase SE which is installed on an HP personal media drive(G: instead of C:, I'm assuming UniWire needs to be installed in the same directory to work), and found it impossible to change the installation-path, both when I installed and when I went back and tried to modify the installation. I also tried starting the remote-control, and it did find my receptor, but I was unable to access the HD or the editor. Is it possible to change the installation-path, or do I have to re-install Cubase to C:? The reason It's on G: is because of the portability, it's nice to be able to bring your recording software with you.

Another funny thing is that I seem to be able to use the komplete-programs as "normal" programs. I just hooked my midi-controller up to my computer via USB, and voila, akoustik piano worked fine, though the latency was high. The receptor was not even on at the time.. Is this even supposed to work?

Anyhow, I know these are newbie questions, but hey, I'm a newbie! :D

Maurenon,

"when I look at the Receptor HD, there's no remote control-folder!"

The Receptor Remote control application now "Receptor Tools" is installed on your drive under Muse Research folder in the applications/programs folder.

"Is it possible to change the installation-path?"

If the Uniwire plugin is not showing up in Cubase, you should check in Cubase to set the path to the Uniwire VST Instrument.

In Cubase go to: Devices Menu/plug-in information
then select "VST 2.x Plug-in Paths" (button).
Here you can add the path in which you have installed Uniwire.

Make sure to go back to the Plug-in Info page and hit the "Update" button.

Then verify that the Uniwire FX and Instrument show up in the list.

Thanks, that solved the problem. :)

However, a new one has turned up, also related to UniWire:
How do you bounce midi-tracks with UniWire if you're using Cubase SE?
In the UW-manual it says I'm supposed to use Real-time export, but that feature doesen't seem to exist in SE...

Are my choices bouncing manually without UW or upgrading to a better version of Cubase? Or is there another solution?

Maurenon,

The work around would be to select "Enable Receptor Audio+Midi I/O" from the SETUP window. When using this feature you must have a SPDIF from your sound card to Receptor for the buffers to stay in sync. You can find more information on this subject in the Receptor user guide.
