Same here. I had gotten kind of disenchanted with VA's (including hardware ones like the Virus, which I owned briefly and sold), and had gone to just using real analog multi-samples in Kontakt because the emulated analogs all just seemed to lack something when compared side-by-side with samples of real Moogs, Oberheims, etc. I guess I'd never bothered to demo Sylenth because its voice architecture looked rather limited and I figured it was "just another VA." I finally demoed it yesterday afternoon, and a few hours later I had to go ahead and buy it. A lot of softsynths will give you that more plastic, "modern VA sound," but Sylenth gets closer to the classic Vangelis/JMJ analog vibe like those multi-gigabyte sample libraries derived from '70s analog synths. A very cool and surprising find.I was happy to already pay the regular price though, so worth it!
