Hi,

as a last tool in a series, I am hereby presenting "The Split Plugin Creator"! With this tool it is possible to create a new VST plugin that hosts two other plugins (currently two equal plugins). The user is then able to split the signal (by frequency, by level, Left/Right or Mid/Side) to process the splitted signal individually with the respected plugin.

Furthermore it is possible to oversample the hosted plugins up to factor 16x to reduce the aliasing. With this treatment you can easily create a multiband compressor based on your favourite broadband compressor or add L/R and M/S possibilities to your favourite EQ (hopefully the incredible Electri-Q :-). Or add more spice by treating loud parts different from quiet parts. Or simply use it to reduce aliasing of older plugins, by oversampling.

I bet with this tool you will rediscover and recreate more than one favorite plugin. The foolproof interface can make it simple for everyone.
While it is basically possible to host two different plugins, this feature is locked until I received enough donations. Otherwise the tool is free to use and part of my open source project. So anyone, who'd like to modify it, is free to do so.

Right now the tool still is very young (started with it last night right after releasing the plugin merger) and might not work with every plugin or in any host. Although I have to work on other things now, just keep me informed about bugs and issues.

Enjoy it,

Christian

Perfect, can be very useful for me. I hope it works fine with what I have (if not, I'll report).

by the way, error in thread title

this kind of takes it to the next level.
ingenious. best of luck with this.

Sounds really cool!

Most multiband compressors allow for 3 or more bands though. Do you plan to extend it further to that?
Peace, my friends. I'm not seeking arguments here. ;)

Out of curiosity I just tried Orion, but can't find any option to 'save as VST' there? I don't get it, could you please explain how this works in orion? I'm a bit sad though that I'm not the first person who created something like this :-( I thought this was innovative...

cool

i am sorry you feel sad by my fault
i mean split band, load any effect vst and save it as a preset but not as a vst
this is innovative to get two plugins and create a new one !
maybe i did not find a use to merge two plugins, so i did not see the innovation !
what is the difference with using a track preset or rack preset in ableton or containerFX in orion ?
i mean configuring several plugins and saving them as a preset.
again sorry and keep your imagination and creativity flowing

Really cool, but I have no interest unless it can do Synthedit.

Making my own stuff in se and trying it in this would be a fun project.

As far as I found out, it's a problem of SynthEdit/SynthMaker and not a problem of this wrapper. I guess I should contact the developers
