Will google for it, thanks.
Does anyone know whether Pianissimum from Frangois Gaton-Andri has free copyright?
I would add credits to the docs anyway, but i still want to make sure i don't infringe any copyright.

Bonte, i found the Splendid Grand soundfont, and compared it to Pianissimum, but the latter sounds better to me because less sonic artifacts, more consistency and more musical soul.
Note that IF a piano is included in the lib, it will be in a very compressed format because the package size must stay low. It would be meant as an 'instant' piano.

Pianissimum - never heard of it! Interesting ...
Jo, I was going to make few drumkits with internal routing in MUX and upload them. Is there any way to embed samples (ogg / wav) in the MUX patch file/a multisample rather than in the MULAB project file yet? F

I know it for a longer time, and always found it a very good piano, especially for a free one. (edit: practically free to use it, not yet sure whether it's free to distribute it)Bonteburg wrote:Pianissimum - never heard of it! Interesting ...

Yes, goto Edit menu -> Sample Manager -> Options -> Embed All.Jo, I was going to make few drumkits with internal routing in MUX and upload them. Is there any way to embed samples (ogg / wav) in the MUX patch file/a multisample rather than in the MULAB project file yet?
This will save the samples within the MUX file.

Yes, but in MULAB, it is a challenge to edit some zones one after an other...I don't get it Confused It's too complex to me. I can't select a zone which is below another zone...
Also in K3, i tried to make a vel-switch between to samples, and though it looked ok graphically, zone 1 went from 0..75, zone 2 from 77..127 Rolling Eyes

[/img]I really need multiple selection editing to make good work...
It's true !I don't get it Confused It's too complex to me. I can't select a zone which is below another zone...

This may be off the wall Jo but try downloading the VST shortcircuit 2 and giving that a spin for how the key velocity loading set up works for some multisample wave files you might have laying around. The layout lets you pop in a number of files in a row in a flash without incessant mouseing(sp?) and clicking.
Also could you be the first developer to start a standard for wav file naming so a key velocity multisample can simply be picked up and loaded en block or maybe that's out there already. I've googled and sure can't find it. Reminds me of all those unique taillight designers that keep the car parts business robust.
Sorry haven't contributed here lately all my comments would've been niggles not worth bothering with. Still when my licence finally times out I'll be right back first in line to re-up.

I don't find how to import samples in sc2guitarfrodo wrote:This may be off the wall Jo but try downloading the VST shortcircuit 2 and giving that a spin for how the key velocity loading set up works for some multisample wave files you might have laying around. I tried drag & drop samples onto sc2, no go
I quickly read some sc2 docs, dragged a folder shortcut onto sc2, no go
?
I think SFZ is the way to go.Also could you be the first developer to start a standard for wav file naming so a key velocity multisample can simply be picked up and loaded en block or maybe that's out there already. I've googled and sure can't find it.

Not to digress from the point of this forum, that is tuning MuLab, but here's a little SC2 help stuff:
From SC2 help files located somewhere out there-
To load samples, you must first create a shortcut to the folder holding them in Windows and place this shortcut in the Short Circuit2\database\samples folder. Be sure that you create the shortcut to the folder that the file or files are in, and not to the sample itself.
Ok, that done, from there here's the tryout.
When you open SC2 click zone on the top bar, then samples in RU corner. Right click the little folder icon and select 'refresh data base' and voila the shortcut you stuck into the sc2 folder/database/samples should pick up and if you click on that you'll get your samples to drag and drop. Kind of convoluted but whatever. Now the easy part. Drag your files over to the area adjacent to the keyboard. A B C etc. are layers, click the layer you want and then sel layer and you can set the vel range for the whole layer (make sure all of the samples are in first) To set the ranges, go to the 'name and range' box and work where Low and High intersect V click and drag up and down in that box (I think if you hold shift or something you get fine control). Go to layer B, drag in more samples click sel layer set the range for that whole layer and onward. Eventually you save the thing and the patch goes into the original wav folder with a shortcut put in SC2's patch folder
To me it seems a nice system to work with multisampled/multi velocity layerd instrument patches.
SC by the way uses a convention to get in batched labeled samples but I can't figure it out. But this is not the place for that discussion.

Minor packaging grip:
Speaking of Piano samples, clicking the open folder on Multisampla shows 1 preset for the prerelease C - called Piano 1. Unfortunately, it can't locate the ogg samples, and neither can I. I'd suggest either including the samples or deleting the preset. Minor point of frustration.
Also, if you want to keep the package size low, how about a multisampla patch library, hosted on KVR?
Cheers,
Oldguy.

Ah, ok, it works now.guitarfrodo wrote: To load samples, you must first create a shortcut to the folder holding them in Windows and place this shortcut in the Short Circuit2\database\samples folder...
Ok, i see....click the layer you want and then sel layer and you can set the vel range for the whole layer
Added a note on the whishlist.
The next MU.LAB supports a root key per sample.SC by the way uses a convention to get in batched labeled samples but I can't figure it out. But this is not the place for that discussion.
When importing samples in a session, that rootkey is automatically set to any key name that can be found in the file name.
And when dropping samples on the multisample editor, there is also auto arrange support

Yes, sorry, noticed it too.oldguy wrote:Minor packaging grip:

The next package properly includes the "Stand-In Piano" which is a very basic piano multisample, but usable for draft composing / playing
It also includes a Drumset multisample.
I wanted to have some basic stuff included in the very MU.LAB package itself. Also, if you want to keep the package size low, how about a multisampla patch library, hosted on KVR?
Download -> Extract -> Play
The idea of extension libraries maybe worked out lateron.
