Yeah, I know that one. Only happens when you switch from Original to the Dark Horse. I must have missed out on something within the gui description. Doesn't really matter, as soon as you load a preset or do anything in the grid (move VCF1 a slot down or anything), the SB's will vanish. Hence it's almost less than a cosmetic issuepoonna wrote:Bug report, I guess.
Load Zebra 2.3RC, switch to Unempty Dark Horse Skin, switch to Synthesis tab, there you go, 2 mysterious SB modules that don't belong to the initialize patch show up.
PS: I install 2.3RC over the 2.2 installation. Is that the correct way? Do I need to do clean install?

You probably got a Zebra2.data folder in Vstplugins? - Then you gotta rename that and either keep stuff in C:\Program Files\u-he\ or download the pre-installed version...psycox wrote:on fl studio 8.02 i cant switch to other skin. in the look menu i cant choose a skin. only resolutions are showed.

Urs,
the new compressor modes cannot be accessed from the Unempty Horse skin.
Other than that, all looks good so far...
Thanks for the update, it's much appreciated
A definitive (sticky) post on exactly how to install using both methods (as well as a bit of background why which folders need to be where) may be useful?
I know that you are intimately familiar with how these computer thingies work, but do consider us lesser mortals

I tried to follow this instruction but to no avail. I ended up uninstalling the lot, downloading the Win installer and re-installing afresh.Urs wrote: You probably got a Zebra2.data folder in Vstplugins? - Then you gotta rename that and either keep stuff in C:\Program Files\u-he\ or download the pre-installed version...

Yo bagginz,
it's true, I forgot the new compressor modes... no big deal, will add them - it's just a couple of lines in the gui script
#---
The whole Zebra2.data thing turned out to be a disaster, that's why I'm folding it back. The folder is needed for Receptor compatibility and a few people preferred this way of installation where all data is in one place. It just has the disadvantage that even simple updates can lead to loss of patches and registration info. Hence I will only support it as a separate download, for those who intentionally want such an installation.
There's an article in the manual and in the ReadMe, but I'll probably extend that a bit.

Time for another quick check before release (Monday?):
Zebra23MacInstall (VST & AU, RTAS Mac)
Zebra23Winstaller (normal installer for Windows)
Zebra23pre-installed (with Zebra2.data for Receptor, Everything In Vstplugins)
- Unempty Dark Horse should now show Compressor Type
- support for non-SSE2 machines
- last minute crash bug removed in VST Mac
- works in Renoise
Further issues?
#---
Also, for the brave among Win users, this one:
http://www.u-he.com/Z2MKL2.zip (dll only)
- does it work?
- does it sound right?
- is it faster? (especially on high Oscillator Resolution settings)

Hey Urs, very nice new version, the new skin is amazing!
Vintage2 now seems to be fixed also.
My questions / comments...
- Is there a way to make the default preset the init preset with this version? It seems to load up a patch instead.
- Which supersaw is this version using?
- Found one little bug, when switching to Dark Horse skin and going back to the Synthesis page, it shouws the SB-1 and SB-2 modules even if you haven't used them. You can then click on an item in your chain to refresh the view which hides them again
- The looks options don't seem to save the skin size, only the type
Cheers

The 'make default' command doesn't seem to do anything. Is it supposed to make the current skin the default every time you load it?
With both the VST and AU version, when I change to the dark horse skin, make it default, and then close it, it reverts to the original skin when I load Zebra again.
This is RC2.
oh and also the extra modules at first in the default patch, left over from RC1.

Yeah, the SideBand modules mysteriously appear only when you switch to the Dark Horse. They disappear after any action in the Grid. I havn't yet found out how the skin has to be modified to start without this glitch, but I'll post the solution in my tech blog and update the files with the then-next version.Echoes in the Attic wrote:The 'make default' command doesn't seem to do anything. Other than that things work fine here, so it's probably a problem with file permissions. It might help to Repair Permissions (assuming you have admin rights on your machine) or even to simply copy Zebra2.component from MacHD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/ to MacHD/Users/You/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/
