Hi guys, hi Urs,

theres just one little Question:

- when will the Dropdown Menu for the xy assignments be implemented?
--> This would be a MAJOR improvement in terms of usability!

- when will zebra get a own midi-assignment table for each new instance?
so to map cc34 to cutoff in instance 1 whereas cc34 could be mapped to another parameter in instance 2 ?
--> i think this is a little harder to implement, but THAT would be the DEAL!

cheers

Daniel

..okay that was 2 questions 8)

wish u all a nice sunday evening

OK I've fixed and updated the template for KORE 2 to 2.3 now with the new SB modules. Seems to work (with my workaround)

I wanted to absolutely confirm this on the right machine, and sadly I have - the problem still exists in Z2.3. on OSX 10.5 Live 7.0.10.

Would a Live project file demonstrating the behaviour be of any use to you?

Thanks, it's good, I've corrected the problem. It was fixed in VST Win, but not quite in VST Mac. Using the AU instead should circumvent the problem though.

Yes, you can just create the starting preset, then save it as "init" It will overwrite the original one though. :)
ok, I think I need a bit more detail here.. I've saved two presets, called init and initialize but when I open Zebra it still opens the new default patch..?

Just wanted say that I like the new skin (that is now included int Zebra). (it is a bit garageband, but the rounded forms are nice)

Actually in 2.3 those patches are called "initialize". So you can save them as that. I understand now that Z 2.3 auto loads a new "initialize" that I can't find in the presets folder. So Urs would have to answer that. Because I always just click on my initialize patch to load it...now it's not automatic in 2.3...so i don't know. :?

Yes... I added a default patch that contains an already usable setting with Velocity, ModWheel and Aftertouch assignments. I hope that this ecourages people to add more of these features to their patches :)

It's a good idea though to add the original "empty" setting as a preset.

Post

yeah, sorry - maybe it's the way I work, but I like to open synths with a simple default saw or sine and work from there.

why not have a tiny button somewhere which, when pressed, removes everything and replaces it with a previously chosen 'default' patch?

that would be awesome.. ;)

Urs,

There seems to be a bug with the LFO's

As I understand it currently when an LFO is set to Free restart mode, each individual note has its own random cycle point (as opposed to a mono free sync lfo mode where subsequent notes stick to the existing lfo cycle, but that cycle is still freely independant of the host bpm, something I dearly miss from Zebra and would love to see implemented at some point! hint hint :D).

However I've noticed that when say for example, assigning LFO to control filter cutoff, then doing a render, that the initial attack of the first note (or notes) sounds wierd.

Like it suddenly jolts into a position or something, can't really explain it but it just doesn't sound 'right'

I've also noticed on a pad sound I've been working on that the lfo behaves oddly on render too, like its following a pattern every time notes are triggered in the render (not just first ones), a pattern which isn't there when just playing the midi notes live in the sequencer. (<- this one might be related to the new 0.1/1/10s modes, not the note length sync options)

This is in Cubase SX3 on PC.

*edit* update, hmmm I think it is an issue with the fixed time length sync modes in the LFO, even if the restart is set to 'free' when you render it it acts like its retriggering instead of freely. It does this for all further notes along the render.

With the existing 1/4 , 1/8 sync etc modes in the LFO, I still somewhat suspect some initial retriggering on the very first notes played in the render, but I think all subsequent notes freely cycle fine after that point.

sorry if this has been addressed in the 33 pages of this thread.
but:
1) is there a way to save the default size to something other than normal... make default on my machines saves the choosen skin as default but I want to also change the default size to large. how can I do that?

2)not sure if this is the right thread to post for feature requests, but on the offshot it is, I would love to be able to collapse folders from the Zebra2 browser.... I only just bought it and already have a long list I have to scroll to find stuff....
3) also is there a find function from the zebra2 browser?
thanks

To 1, 2 and 3: not yet

Saving different gui sizes is something that hosts don't really like at the moment. Working on that.

Preset management is an ongoing project. I have a collapsing system here, but it doesn't save with project and it's not tested. Textual search is not really anything I have thought much about, but I'm working on a "favourites" facility that lets you separate the good the bad and the ugly.
