NothanUmber,

Please delete Zebra2.ksd in the Kore database cache:

This should do the trick!

Hello Urs,

I looked at
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Native Instruments\Kore 2,
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Native Instruments\Shared Content
and
E:\Dokumente\Native Instruments\Shared Content\Sounds

none of those folders contained a file named Zebra2.ksd.

Did I search at the wrong places or is there another possibility what could go wrong? (Also rebuilt the whole database, didn't help either)

Thanks for your support!

I don't have Kore myself, maybe ew or aMUSEd can help out?

posted a similar question in the NI support forum perhaps there is something I can do with the Kore configuration:

URs is on the right track - you just need to delete the zebra 2.ksd from your Database cache folder which will force Kore to rescan it from fresh.

The Kore database cache on Win is in Documents and settings/yourusername/Local Settings\Application Data\Native Instruments\Kore 2\Database Cache

Yep- none of Urs's plugins update correctly as far as Kore's database goes; you'll always need to trash the u-he .ksds in the database cache when you update one of Urs's plugins. As to why, I couldn't tell you. :?

After you've done that (don't forget Zebralette and Z-Rev), start Kore; the plugins will rescan correctly.

Thanks aMUSEd and ew,

It is working now! I did not look in the local settings folder and the wonderful Vista search option leaves out all folders that the user is not supposed to know about...

This update is amazing, but I am noticing one wierd behavior I wanted to ask about.

So, I open Zebra2 and load the initialize patch.

Then, if I play a note followed by a note below it (one octave below it for instance), I notice what sounds like a filter going through an envelope with some attack, even though there are no filters at all. If I then play the low note again, it is fine, but the problem occurs again when I play the high note and then go return to the low note.

I will prepare some example MP3s to demo this. I'm almost certain I have not seen this behavior in previous versions.

Cheers :)

Yo Fots,

Please prepare an example mp3... I can't imagine what this would be...

I know just what you mean, though I thought it was just some quirk of the zebra sound engine that sometimes notes sounded like that when playing an initialised basic saw patch. I've noticed on realtime playing but haven't tested on rendered version yet...

Thanks for the update Urs!

The first thing i noticed however are the high noise levels with the EQ's
and shapers. Is it just me or did anyone else noticed this as well? I use an
E-MU 0404 USB audio interface btw.

Another problem i have is with saving patches. I made a few new patches
in v2.3. But they don't show up in the preset folder anymore...

I'm on Vista x64 and the preset folder is here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\u-he\Presets\Zebra2

Are patches saved to another folder now, or am i missing something?

Ciao,

- Menno

Yeah. I can hear that too. It might be some kind of phasing thing. Hard to say.

I'm experiencing a similar problem, which I've not noticed in previous versions. It is intermittent and not repeatable. The project is running 17 instances of Zebra, all with unique patches.

When I press "play" in Logic, the first track, containing a Zebra kick drum patch, starts an octave higher than it should, although it's hard to tell if it's actually the pitch, or filter, that is causing the problem. Stopping and starting the project returns the kick to its regular sound.

It's not a major problem for me, but I thought the info might help you track it down ...

Peace,
Andy.

So... who's got an mp3 for me?

Can you render an mp3 for me? Or tell me which specific presets sound different?

Nope, it's the right folder. I don't yet have Vista 64 though.

Which version did you have installed before?
Are the patches actually written on the hard drive?
Does closing/opening the editor window bring the saved patches up?
