Consequence: MIDI only version?

I know there have been some requests for a MIDI only version of Consequence but I don't think I've seen a response to the idea from Sugar Bytes.

Just wanted to know if this is a possibility or not.

There was some talk about a successor/replacement for the late and great Sonicbytes ERA. I'd expect such a product* to include similar capabilities to Consequence, but without the sampler engine.
If I'm not wrong, ERA can already replicate the midi side of Consequence, so a replacement plug in should do so as well.

I was'nt impressed with consequence at all but as I use ERA2 daily I hope Sugarbytes do a better job on its replacement. ERA2 may not be supported any more but it's still the best step sequencer available imho.
