Thanks for your replay and sorry again.

I've read your post well.

we got the idea to add an option to manually remap the i/o of a vst plugin.
Maybe my understanding is not collect but.. I understood as shown below .

we have to remap VST-plugin's i/o by ourselves on MU.LAB .

if so.. Can i do that on plugin-edit-window or MU.LAB menu?

sorry.

Post

This VST IO remap feature is not yet available.

It will be there in MU.LAB 3 which is being worked on.

Post

Sorry

I understand well.

I confused.

SideChain is not available on MU.LAB so far .

I expects version3.

thank you very much!!

Euh, no that is not correct.

Side caining IS available in MU.LAB 2.5.

You just need to find a proper side chain compressor.

SideChCompst is not a proper side chain compressor because it does not properly report how its 4 inputs are organized :?

Maybe it would als be better if MU.LAB would default to 4 mono input jacks in such case instead of a single 4-channel input jack.

Post

sorry again.

The only thing that I wanted to know was how to make 2 input jacks on MPA like your png example.

Making sideChainAction needs 2 input jacks. does it? (one for Bass ,and one for Kick.)

on my VST-plugin-Manager window , it shows SideChainCompST has 4/2 (Input/Output).

But on MPA , SideChainCompST has only 1 input-jack. ( few another plugins had only 1 too.)

Why does your SideChCompSt have 2 input jacks?

You just need to find a proper side chain compressor.
But.. I tried few different SideChainComp plugins , but all of them have only 1 input jack ...

sorry for many times :(

Post

well basically you have to find a sidechain compressor compatible with the latest version of mulab.

now, i'm a windows user, and i use a free plugin called compressive, which works like a charm.

but, it seems you need a mac solution. can't help you much there, but i would recommend searching google.

here are all mac compatible compressors listed in the kvr database:

http://www.kvraudio.com/get.php?mode=re ... t=1&rpp=15

search for the ones which have sidechain capabilities and then test their demo versions in mulab!

anyway, here's a few picks from the first couple of pages (i repeat, you have to test them yourself):
the glue - http://www.kvraudio.com/get/3666.html
sidechain compressor - http://www.kvraudio.com/get/2874.html
pro c - http://www.kvraudio.com/get/2888.html
golden audio gate (not a compressor, but still worth a try i guess) - http://www.kvraudio.com/get/2443.html

In the new MU.LAB 2.5.6 the problem using vst plugins that don't properly report their IO pins should be resolved because in MU.LAB 2.5.6:

1) By default, if a VST plug does not tell the host how its input pins are organized (i.e. plug does not support the 'effGetInputProperties' call), then MU.LAB defaults to see them as stereo pins.

2) If this default behaviour does not match for a certain vst plugin, then you can overwrite how the IO pins should be grouped by adding these lines in the VstPlugins.Xml file (within the relevant plugin group):

ReGroupAudioInputs=i1,i2,i3,...
ReGroupAudioOutputs=o1,o2,o3,...

For example, if a vst plug has 4 input pins, but they should be grouped as 2 stereo jacks, and the plug does not report it to the host, then add this line to that plugin item in Mulab/Settings/VstPlugins.Xml:

ReGroupAudioInputs=2,2

Similar story for outputs.

Of course all this is only necessary for VST plugins that don't tell the host how its IO pins are to be grouped.

Normally a good VST plugin will report that to the host, and so you don't have to take any extra action.

Now in case of 'SideChCompSt' (2 stereo inputs, but not reporting that) it should work out of the box now thanks to the default stereo grouping.

MU.LAB 2.5.6 is available as a patch at:

OSX: http://www.mutools.com/mulab/patch/mula ... -patch.zip
WIN: http://www.mutools.com/mulab/patch/mula ... -patch.zip

Installation: http://www.mutools.com/mulab/mulab-upda ... -patch.txt

Please approve if MU.LAB 2.5.6 is working well and whether side-chaining with SideChCompSt works fine.
