Absolutely not!* It is just a MIDI file of Rick Astley's "Never Going to Give You Up" played with a few Zebras.

* Yes

This whole thread is just full of awesomeness. :D

Indeed, with eyes squinted tight and that I-just-hit-my-thumb-with-a-hammer facial expression, I feel his pain.

Reflective Update #3 - Defiance

There is a remarkable similarity between the Kubler-Ross model of the 5 stages of grief and dying, and the loss of the Musikmesse award: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Accceptance. In the original thread "omg omg OMG" the Denial of the possibility of losing was evident, with the exception of a few cautious and/or cynical individuals, some of whom were thinking rationally, while others just covered their eyes. This present thread, BS Zebra Rage Challenge, continued the process with various expressions of anger, mostly industrial in nature, leading me to believe that all musicians have a latent hatred of the sounds of a real job. We could of course continue the processing of our grief, and this would be the mature thing to do. But since when has this challenge ever been about being mature? I propose a different model, being the 5 stages of Sore Losing, that recognizes that some of us are determined not to exhibit the behavior of good sportsmanship unless we have to. Here are the new stages I propose:

1) Denial - We couldn't possibly lose. No way.
2) Anger - We like to scream like this. It clears the phlem.
3) Defiance - We fart in their general direction. We do this high above them, using a romantic language accent.
4) Attitude - We strut back and forth and look good. Real good.
5) Delusion - The award is over there on the shelf/webpage. We have lots of them, you just can't see them.

It seems obvious that the next step of immaturity is to begin producing fart noises with Zebra, and I have begun research to this end.

Fart noises in Zebra? What a coincidence. It just so happens, i've been studying for over 3 months now, how to perceive this certain sound. Here's the fruit of countless hours of research:

And the magical patch here:

X-pad controls "sphincter decay". Playing around with the x-pad and this patch is actually kind of fun :-o

*TIP* tweak the "overload" button on the XMF filter for some extra "juice".

This gives new meaning to roflmao. I am truly inspired, er, expired. And only two modules, this is pure genius.

I forgot to turn down the speakers, I think the neighbors might have heard that

Just a little example to show how practical and useful the Polybius patch can be. All Zebra except for drums:

You had me in stitches for about a good 10 minutes straight there

I think I'll set this as my ringtone.

I gotta say I'm really happy you joined the zebra family billstei. You're definitely adding a bit of zany fun to this forum. :)

Thanks for all that, billstei and Polybius. Great stories, and the best wind noises yet :). Must wipe coffee off keyboard now...

Even the chords were done with the fart patch, so it's definitely something you should share with others as the magical fruit of your labor. This patch is a work of fart.
