yea for the most part.. the code is highly optimized for precision and performance. I paid 1100 for my ti desktop. you could probably compare the performance of the nord g2 vs the nord g2 demo to get a feel for processing performance required to pull off 1 dsp emulation.

when I play my zebra it sounds good, but then when I turn on my virus ti it sounds like crap in comparison...

I can't believe I'm feeding this ... err ... pointless troll ... but see those words highlighted in bold and italics, "in comparison"? That is the only reason, the answer to your question. So why play the game? Why get involved? Why not just enjoy the sound for what it is?

Oh, you know you're having fun, schooling the poor noobs like me. I'm just making it nice and easy for you. I'm glad you like your synth. It's just too bad that not everyone agrees with you. And yeah, some of us have access to West Lake Audio monitoring systems and such.

What zenpunkhippy said. Personally I think anybody who spends $2000 on a VA these days is not too bright. To me there's VA and digital synths in general and analog. If you're going to spend $2000 on a hardware synth IMO it should be analog. A virus sounds good because the built in FX are all pretty good, turn off ALL of them, play a couple Oscillators with the filter wide open and compare it to any soft synth, it's not better. Honestly my only complaint about Zebra is the FX are mediocre for the most part, not the comb filter or filters in general, but the reverb and chorus etc. Play Zebra with Urs'es new FX line and tell me that the Virus is "better".

Plus it's all subjective. People dog on Absynth, but I still love the shit out of that synth. I never really cared that much for the Nord sound, but others love it etc.

Really, you are overstating it to call the Virus crap. It aint no Zebra but it is a solid synth. And if you really think it sounds like crap in comparison with Zebra, then use Zebra. You can get decent cash for the Ti.
