The UI Editor is a very powerful tool that helps modding Zebra's user interface. It should work with skins. You can basically move things around, change colours (Press "C" on Mac, I think F2 on Win), use a lot of right-click on all sorts of elements. Press Esc to switch between edit mode and control mode. Richt-click in the empty grey space to save changes.
thanks will give a play soon

the skin editor is awesome but very confusing
i love how it's realtime skinning with 'check out' option ... really cool man! how do we do the graphics on our own? does it just introspect on our disk in the skins directories of note, and also how do i save changes/reload changes for a skin?

You can use any graphics object as a "foreground graphics" for a knob, not just the "Circs". Including animations as in the animations directory. If you specify a degree of rotation for the whole knob (e.g. 270, 300) in the directory's filename, the graphics will be rotated and dissolved accordingly (see how it's done in Uhbik...).grymmjack wrote:also urs, am i right assuming we cant make our own knob animations? we're stuck using the defaults basically and configuring them somehow or am i wrong and we can?
Oh, you save changes by right-clicking into the free grey space and selecting "save changes").
Have you dicovered the function keys? Try the colour lab... F2 or something...
Almost everything is done with right-click on an object. This was necessary because opening more windows or palettes is tricky with plugins and requires more work on the crossplatform side.
