I've just been reading up on this MDrummer virus you've (allegedly) put into your latest 2.15 version. Apparently it destroys system files at will.
Quite frankly, I think the developers of MDrummer should be prosecuted. How many years do you get for writing viruses in the US these days? 8 years or something?
The fact is that, now, fully licensed and paid up users of MDrummer have potentially destructive virus like code on their systems curtsey of Melda Productions. The fact that this virus like code only activates if the software "appears" unlicensed or tampered with is NOT the point. Some viruses don't activate immediately, they're still viruses (waiting to happen). Any virus like code which is wilfully developed to harm peoples computers is breaking the law. Even if the code doesn't activate, it has the "possibility" of activating and that my friends is ILLEGAL!
What happens if a memory stick or hard disk file gets corrupted? What happens if someone writes code (in say a competitors plugin!) to tamper peoples valid licenses? It's a damn quick way to kill off the competition. Example:
Hey I'm trying to sell a new drum based plugin. Melda Productions are my competitors. Mmm... This user is using MDrummer (I don't want that!) I know, I'll get my plugin to tamper with the MDrummer license. That will kill this customers computer and it will look like Melda Productions are responsible! That will stop them from selling it and this user from making any future purchases from them!
Quite frankly, I can't believe you've got the balls to treat your paying customers in this way. You know how it works by now surely? The only SAFE version of your software NOW is the version which will be cracked and have this vile code removed!!!
All I can think is that Santa never brought you any Christmas presents and now you blame the rest of the world you horrible misanthropic monsters. You must be pretty desperate.
Personally I wouldn't touch your gear with yours. If I was ever going to, I most CERTAINLY wouldn't now!
