ain't happening for me. can you confirm where i'm going wrong.MeldaProduction wrote:Use the batch midi import from the rhythm editor / advanced.
i have a collection of groovemonkee files called electronic that i wish to import.
1) on the rhythm editor page i click on advanced.
2) select batch midi import.
3) select basic (it's the first collection of drum patterns)
4) apply standard level range
just import and keep the names
apply input midi filters
are all selected and loop type is set to beat. click ok.
5) choose target directory
i created a folder called electronic that sits alongside breaks,
grooves etc and within that another folder called beats
i then just click ok and nothing seems to happen
if i then go to quick setup the files cannot be seen but if i have a look
in mdrummer loops folder on the c drive there are mdloop files.
help please vojtech.

Hi,
I'm not Vojtech
, and I don't know about groovemonkee, but are groovemonkee files .mid files?
http://www.groovemonkee.com/home/groove ... -free.html <== I see here that they offer their loops in many "formats":
* Addictive Drums
* BFD
* BFD2
* EZdrummer
* GM
* Reason NN-XT
* Reason Drum Kit Refills
I would think that you would have to choose the GM one's...assuming that's General MIDI
Ciao

Yeh, sorry man. I don't know the answer. I don't use MDrummer, yet and haven't done any imports. Vojtech, when he comes back from vacation/holiday will have to rescue you.

I was messing around this today, and it was a pretty simple affair for me.
I used the batch import function from the directory where my midi files where and then it asked me where it wanted the files.
I created a new directory (from target directory) and it created it there.
Now I can load up the specific mloop on a specific key.
Sweetness.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaha here's the problem - of course you cannot find them on the quick setup page - quick setup contains rhythms. Rhythm is a huge collection of loops, partial loops... Groove monkee is a collection of those simple loops. That's why I was wondering, why you want them imported this way. You have to use rhythm editor/generator to create a rhythm from them.soulxcity wrote:still ain't working for me. am i wrong in expecting the imported groovemonkee folders and midifiles to appear on the quick setup page?MeldaProduction wrote:Hey guys, so it is fine now, right?

i'm glad we've cleared that one up.MeldaProduction wrote:Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaha here's the problem - of course you cannot find them on the quick setup page - quick setup contains rhythms. so what's the chance of having a batch importer where i don't have to do anything but click import and they all appear in the quick setup page?
or having more drum patterns in the next update? that's maybe one of the ways
i would like to see mdrummer updated 'more patterns' every new upgrade - throw a few in. drum patterns lifted from chart singles would be another good idea (there's no copyright on the drum pattern) put me down for some cameo.

I'm not really sure there can be a copyright infringement on drum patterns, I could be wrong...since midi is just data.
Anyways, even just importing the samples that groove monkee provides it's easy enough to use those to create variations or learn from to create new loops.

Well, so far there have been to much work on features, so no time left for rhythms. Soon there will be the huge package MTotalDrums, which will contain great acoustic drums. Then, well, the rhythms would be an obvious choice
.
To import rhythms and see them in the quick setup page it must be convert to rhythms, which means create "single-loop" rhythms. Obviously possible, but the rhythms would be very simple and stupid, no variations whatsoever, no breaks etc...
