How do you sync the position in the cycle of the LFOs in SynthMaker2 to the bars in your host?

OK. I will try to explain this as best I can but it ain't easy trying to explain my particular problem in text..........I don't think this is a bug, so I thought I had better start a new thread and ask....how do you sync an LFO in SynthMaker 2 to your host? I know you have the Sync option to sync the tempo of lfos to your host but I want to be able to sync the lfos so that they not only sync in tempo but also sync their cycles inline with the host. By this I mean the lfo starts in line with the bars starting in my host. This is a standard feature of most plugins and I am very suprised I cannot find a way to do this in SynthMaker2. "The instantaneous phase of voice LFOs are reset whenever a MIDI Note On message is received by the LFO" - but I often do not want to restart an LFO by triggering it with a midi note. "This reset does only happen once at the beginning of a song for Global (Synth) LFOs" - I don't really understand what this means - what is the start of a song in terms of a song that you are in the process of creating in your host? Do I have to go to the start of the very first bar in my host for the Global LFOs to reset? Tried this but that doesn't seem to be the case and, even if it was the case, seems pretty pointless to me. And very strange!! I love what the rest of SynthMaker offers but my current problem with the LFOs in SynthMaker means I just won't be using it very much if at all at the moment. LFOs syncing to the position of your host is a standard feature of plugins. How come it isn't implement in SynthMaker? I am sure I must be missing something somewhere - please let me know as I am soooooooooooooo frustrated!! Almost as frustrated as I am trying to explain what I mean in text!! Hopefully someone here can understand what I mean.

Hey, just use "Synth LFO", they are "global" LFOs so they only reset their phase at the beginning of the song. I think I already wrote this in the manual.

Oooops!!kv331 wrote: The name is SynthMASTER not MAKER
Lets say, for example, I have a simple, trance like "four to the floor" 4/4 beat and I want to create a synth lead sound who's volume is at "0" (so no volume) when the kick drum comes in and is at "127" (at it's loudest) when the kick drum is off. So I might use a square wave, with a 1/4 lfo speed. I don't want the lfo to restart whenever I press a midi key to trigger the synth as I always want the synths volume "0" (so no volume) when the kick drum comes in and at "127" (at it's loudest) when the kick drum is off, no matter when I trigger the synth. This creates that typical gated affect where the synth sounds like it is gated by the kick. How do I do that with SynthMaster2?kv331 wrote:Hey, just use "Synth LFO", they are "global" LFOs so they only reset their phase at the beginning of the song.

Hey I'm telling for the 2nd time: Synth LFO is the answer for that. Also the rate parameter should be SYNCed to the tempo.

But none of the lfos in SynthMaster2 automatically sync their phase to the host. I am not refering to the rate of the lfo - which I have set to SYNC but the phase of the lfo. I want the phase to start on every beat no matter where I start the song from and no matter when I trigger the synth. None of the lfos in SynthMaster2 seem to do this. FabFilter Twin 2, for example, can automatically sync the phase of it's lfos to the host so that, no matter where you start the song from and no matter when the synth is triggered, the lfo will always start it's phase at the start of every beat of the host. So, if you followed my example and used FabFilter Twin 2 to create that typical gated affect where the synth sounds like it is gated by the kick, you know that, no matter where you start the song from and no matter when the synth is triggered, you will get that typical gated affect where the synth is gated perfectly in time with the kick drum by the lfo. I can't find a way to do this with SynthMaster2 using any of it's lfos (Sylenth1 is the same as SynthMaster2 in this respect).kv331 wrote:Hey I'm telling for the 2nd time: Synth LFO is the answer for that. Now I see, sorry about the misunderstanding...
Well, it's a feature not a bug
Anyhow, we'll try to fix it in a subsequent release.

Many thanks.
It's one of those things that is very hard to describe in text. Much easier if you were just sitting here so that I could show you what I meant.

I think for the correct implementation we'll need position info from the host app. Anyhow I'll figure that out!
