Of course I think it'll need some redesign for usability. For example, I don't know each wavetable by that little icon, so that'd need some tweaking... :D

Post

IR-based Reverb!

:D

5 - 10 rooms/plate, not to much parameters(but eq would be nice for it)

Also would be nice:

-different distortion-algorithms
-eq - make it to a grafic-eq(more user-friendly) because atm the user don't see the boosts in db, and the q in pol etc
-basic-osc -> adding a subosc(only 2 parameters - volune and wave[sine/triangle]

edit/
"Using at least factory wavetables in additive osc would be nice as well."

sounds a little bit amazing^^ but there must be the osc bigger(view of the waveform etc)

but after this, the sm2 could be able to play 2 x 2 x 8 waves as the same time? Thats to much

Post

Please keep it efficient for my old Windows XP Laptop to cope with.

The modulators are indeed "sub" oscillators. Should we rename them?

Yeah, renaming them is a good idea.
But implementing the wavetables into the additive section is challenging visualwise, too.
Maybe just having only that pop-up menu as we do in the wavetable section. If anybody wants to analyze the used wavetables, he/she just need to switch over to the wavetable section and view them; then switch back to the additive and set it up.
This would require the oscillator modules to keep the settings even when not active, and have a 'reset' button. (If someone wants to quickly reset a fcuked up oscillator)
Beware that having wavetables in additive can cause synthmaster to evolve one step towards string machine sounds ;)

I'd request some more analogish simple waveform 'variations'. Like the Synthmaster1 saw. And maybe a string machine/choir wavetable category for additive?

Also, I'd like to see the filter on/off button on the filters page.

And Bulent what do you think about a VCO module with stack, hard sync and voice drift and stuff like that? :P

Hard sync is already implemented.

For stacking osc, use an "additive" osc as it's a combination of 8 basic osc.

for voice drift: You can achieve that with global LFOs I should look into that.

Sorry, forgot to put 'physical-modeled' before the 'VCO'.
I wanted to mean an analog modelled VCO like the ones in D16 products and Strobe

EDIT: Bulent, you've mentioned physical modeling before. What kind of modules were in your mind then? ;)

Can you improve the load time?

Post

The load time is pretty fair on my 2500+ Athlon XP.

As an another feature request, adding a filterbank to the Synth FX section should be done. Therefore both layers can be tamed with the same tool

I would use them primary as modulators^^
And with 2 small knobs(volume + wave[sine/triangle]) at the basic ocs save place in the gui, and so with 1 subosc for each basic-osc the sm2 get more balls without losing his modulators

edit/

How big should this changes be? for the updates. I have there some ideas, but this makes the sm2 perhaps a little bit to big and cpu-eating

Omg: We, little featurephil askers are attacking this forum heavily :D

So far I've tested with at least 5 different computers and no problems with load time. What's your system specs?

I finaly test the demo. I must take my words back. Sm doesnt sounds thin at all. I am very pleased how does sm's lowend sounds! It is really balanced. So dont change it. It was so wrong tu judge sounds by demosongs on your website. So sorry about that.

However, after testing demo i notice one, or two things which are deal breaker for me.

1. I dont like at all when some synth's or fx stole my FL Studio spacebutton shortcuts. So dont force SM to lock space button. Can you let Fruity to keep own shortcuts?

2. Douple mouseclick (left) on knobs should restore knobs on default values. There is numbers of vst(i)'s and host where are this feature. I rly miss this one.

Cheers

I couldnt understand the problem here? Does the VSTi prevent the host to process keyboard?

Consider both done on Sunday's 2.0.3.2 release.

Cheers!

Open fruity, load sm there. Draw couple notes on pianoroll. Press play to play them. Now tune knobs and press space to stop play and voila! it doesnt stop, cause sm "override" fruity's own keyboard shortcuts.

There is numbers of vst(i)'s which do same shit thing. :x
