some say a nice way to tell the 'quality' of a synth is to put the filter resonance at maximum and then do a cut-off sweep..

My 2 cents is this will be the must have synth of 2010, I've never demo and bought faster, as for the phat stuff I might try a phaser effect lightly mixed, or perhaps a slow tremolo to a layer an octive below so that it mutes out as it passes. then the wha effects too I got go play this thing again I miss it already.

If you do that, you'll hear that it sounds like a "Moog" filter at full resonance.

Regarding filters, what's coming up after our OSX release:

Filter FM
Different saturation types for filters, with bias control as well.

Actually our own Teoman Pasinlioglu has many analogs including JP8, so it's time for me to analyze those in more detail

Basicly we have 2 unison voices, each having 6 saw osc, 1 LP24 filter with drive, and the layer has mild distortion turned on.

So, let me ask again: Does SynthMaster sound "thin" ?

The midi is too slow, it needs a part where the notes are playing with double this speed.
I can't really tell how does it sound. It is certainly fuller than the previous one, but still lacks some 'warmth', some roundness I've heard in the mks demo.
I'd suggest setting other synths to exactly the same settings and trying them with the same midi. I'd suggest the analog synths of Teoman, and some software demos. (Arturia Jupiter8,XILS-3, Ultra Analog, and Zebra2.)

Helix is amazing. Hardly cold. Sounds like a piece of Roland Hardware.
