Hi everyone,

We'll continue making additional preset banks for our registered users.

What type of sounds would you guys want to hear from your SynthMaster 2.0 ? :D

Come on, share your thoughts!

OK, let me start:

I want to have a VA bank that really shows of the VA skills of SynthMaster :)
Around 64-128 presets should be enough!

VA Bank? Mhm so you mean with use ONLY basic and additiv osc?^^

The bigger question would be, i think, what kind of genre?

Pop/Rock, 70s sound, bread-n-butter so to speak :D

The reason I'm asking is: No one has listed SynthMaster 2.0 as a good VA yet, so this shows that we're either missing the right presets, or wavetables/sound engine.

We should fix this asap! :D

Bread'n butter sounds
And of course filling SM up with partial presets

I'm a sucker for smooth jazzy sounds and sounds that are deep (pads, keys). Bass sounds are getting ridiculous on every synth. Bass is not the only way to go. Plucked sounds that are different are good ideas. No one ever comes up with enough of these.

Post

Waldorf-esque long shimmering pad sounds and plucks.

Get the Turkish "Sound" magazine :D

They reviewed it in their December issue, and of course it was a very positive review as SynthMaster is the first Turkish software synthesizer

It's good to be the first in a 70 million country, but I wish I could turn that opportunity into local financial success too :D

Agreed! How about Oberheim brass patches? Personally I like the approach in OP-X of having recreations of famous sounds from 70's rock. But then again I'm an old fart that thinks no decade since has produced as much great music (Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd, Kansas, even some Styx, etc...).

Trance, nothing but trance. In fact... let's make a bank of only super saws. (naturally we'll copy and paste 128 instances of the same patch and then just adjust the cut on each one till we have 128 "even" patches :D )

....honestly, I donno, with what's in there already, if you can't use it, take up a different hobby... like counting rice, or staring into the sun....

..and I'm kidding of course. Hmmm, doesn't seem to be any major glaring gaps in the banks already in there, but more sounds can't hurt. Does is have to be a genre or style specific bank?

Downloading Synth Squad now. Let's see what we are really missing soundwise? :D

Well, we just have to make sure we can be better than the competition, right?

And prove that with sound samples, side by side comparisons!

Maybe i could try to reproduce some of those brass patches which i made for Strobe (from Synth squad), Sylenth1 and Waldorf Largo if i find some time... One jupiter Brass is already inside my Synthmaster 2 patches. :)

BTW i used OP-X Pro as a basis for some of those sounds. In my Strobe patches there are also different versions of that "Shine On..." Pink Floyd patch.

UPDATE: I just started trying to reproduce some of my Synth Brass patches from Strobe. Let's see how long it takes... :)
BTW this will be a kind of 1:1 comparison against Strobe and Largo (+ Sylenth1 / OP-Pro maybe) so let's see how good Synthmaster 2.0 really is...

PS: My original patches are here:
Strobe : http://rapidshare.com/files/285965274/I ... 8.9.09.zip
Largo: http://rapidshare.com/files/319824154/I ... v1_3_1.fxb
http://rapidshare.com/files/319829225/I ... s_v1.2.fxb
Sylenth1: the brass patches are already part of the factory sounds. Search for "IW" at the end of the patch names.

I'd suggest to also try Largo, Helix, and Zebra. They are closer rivals, and worth to have in mind.
I hope you'll try Synth Squad and come up with some dirty analog solutions for the next release! :D
