..isn't it made with the blueberry thing from the "Sine Sine Everywhere a Sine" thread?
Yes - billstei "encoded" that quote from Urs to 3 oscillators ( x 16 waves each = 48 waves in the table), using his "Blueberry Thing" program.

I have to study the procedure, if explained in the Everywhere a Sine thread, because i'm really interested to obtain these kind of sounds! :)

^ without exploring further, this looks like a tool that you can use to spit out OSC presets to be used in Zebra.

You can get it here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/blueberrything/

Will test tonight.

Yes, i've it already, but i've also to figure out how can obtain these resynthesized voices.
I've also to contact billstei because the gain knob isn't working so good, at this knob seems to be fundamental to have the blen osc clearly audible...better to continue on the appropriate thread ;)

Yes, Howard even references "billstei" in the info pane of the preset.

If you study it closely you'll see the speech segments are stored across 3 oscillators:

OSC1: Vintage <- changed by MSEG1
OSC2: Modular <- changed by MSEG2
OSC3: Blubbery-Thing <- changed by MSEG3

Careful application of MSEGS modulates the position in the wavetable giving us the impression of speech. Remove (or 0 out) the modulation of the MSEG attached to the OSC wave knob and rotate it yourself, you'll hear the elements of each word. This also creates some pretty cool sounds in itself. I like going from max to min, gives a nice creepy backward speaking sound.

You'll also notice that the first table of OSC2 and OSC3 are empty, meaning they won't start "speaking" until their respective MSEG kicks in.

Top it off with some FX to give it a ghostly feel and you have the preset. It's definitely more of a clever hack than showcasing zebra as a sampler. The time that went into this short phrase was no doubt lengthy. A tool like Alchemy would be much better suited for vocal manipulation.

Thank you for the infos about the patch, i got it clear, isn't so much complicated...what is complicated is to have the 16 table osc preset done, blueberry isn't so intuitive...i know that i can select single parts of the .wav file but then i can't put the other parts in the other tables sections, then the knobs aren't working, nor circular nor linear.
I've to contact billstei.

^ it's all about time management, my friend. I now choose to hang out at places that
1. Provide me fans.
2. Give me production knowledge.
3. Have fun on the interwebs.

not where people just fight or shit on each other :)

Yikes........... On the PC I just realised I am getting nested subfolders upon nested subfolders.... I have about ten levels of Zera2.data folders.

Mighty Pea wrote:Musical Gym: I'm sad to see your question/bug report went unnoticed, but I'm pretty sure your Zebra opens in UI Editor mode. You probably have the extra files that enable this in your presets, so try deleting your default.h2p (back it up in another directory, just to be sure) and a file called something like nouieditor_default.h2p
Now if you start Zebra, it should be normal again. Try this, and let us know if it works!
That's okay. I still haven't found my original post in this thread, but I'll follow it now and post back in both threads when I try to make the demo work again. I think Urs recommendaton was similar to yours but not as complex.
I'm not sure why the demo needs to be tweaked to work in FL, though, unless I somehow got a prior version that was broken.

That is strange. I've used Zebra (2.2 to 2.5) on FL 7, 8, and 9 and never had that happen. There are so many variations in setup, though (processor, OS, etc.), I guess strange things can occur.

that happened to me too. I got frustrated with the installer and just deleted everything

I backed up my presets and downloaded the pre-installed version. it is so much simpler

hi, thanks.
can you confirm for me that the latest unempty dark house skin does NOT allow one to choose the oscillator from the oscillator presets, whilst the default skin does?
thanks
