Followed the exact steps in M3.0.11. and didn't had a crash.
However, M3.0.11. still crash when I load EW Symphonic Orchestra and I have Google Chrome opened...
This might be an issue with my computer or Chrome, not Mu.Lab.

Something I didn't have in any other DAW I tried (Orion 7, EnergyXT2, REAPER 3)
It's crashing within Surge, i have no idea why.
I'll email Vember Audio about this.
Thanks for the log.crash log:

Ok, i've noticed M3 is not yet logging much info when starting up the MME audio engine. Tuned in the next version.
Nielzie, could you please send me a screenshot of the main MU.LAB window on the computer that you used to make this log. Please make the screenshot in the same setup as before, don't change window positions or sizes please.
So simply startup M3, press [PrintScreen], paste it in a picture and email it to me. Thanks!

Huh! MU.LAB is complaining it can't find certain skin files. Do you properly see all the MULAB plugin editors?Nielzie wrote:crash log:

Question: Wouldn't it be more logical to put "VST Plug-In Manager" in the File menu instead of Edit menu?

No, in my opinion it's more logical to have it in the edit menu, there is the "preferences", "options" and "setup" stuff. I think the Plugin Manager is there to "setup" (add/remove) the vst's and list them.mutools wrote:Question: Wouldn't it be more logical to put "VST Plug-In Manager" in the File menu instead of Edit menu?
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

I'm unsure about the new auto-quantize function (unless my timing has improved out of sight over the last couple of weeks).
Is there still a way to record MIDI-in 'as-is' and do the nudging later?
Nowt wrong with auto-quantize -it's brilliant for some uses (no quantization hassle) but can potentially destroy a good performance.

I always let the piano, electric piano and hammonds unquantized. I quantize only drums, bass and probably other rhythmic elements.
BTW, how do I cross fade audio tracks ?

Sure! Right-click the record MIDI button and set the recording grid to none.Bonteburg wrote:I'm unsure about the new auto-quantize function (unless my timing has improved out of sight over the last couple of weeks).

Using automation, e.g. automation of rack faders.sorohanro wrote:BTW, how do I cross fade audio tracks ?

How I do that in one track ?mutools wrote:Using automation, e.g. automation of rack faders.sorohanro wrote:BTW, how do I cross fade audio tracks ?
situation:
I record a voice and I like a part (vocal 1) until an "aaaa" and after that I want to mix it with another part (vocal 2), so I choose the new part from "aaa" and inside of the "aaa" I cross fade (vocal 1 fade out, vocal 2 fade in, so it sounds natural).

Not sure about how I'd do it with one track alone but it's fairly simple with two tracks, 'changing lanes' style.sorohanro wrote:How I do that in one track ?mutools wrote:Using automation, e.g. automation of rack faders.sorohanro wrote:BTW, how do I cross fade audio tracks ?

Still a bit of a weak point, i know. It's on the whishlist. For now it can only be done using automated plugins. Or, you could edit the audio file itself, i.e. apply fade in/out on the audio data, but note that's explicitly changing the audio file.

MU.LAB test 3.0.12 is available in http://www.mutools.com/mulab/azalea
See the changelist in that webfolder for the changes.
A full install of the package is needed as things in the graphics folder and library have changed. If you want to keep your current settings, then copy all files in Mulab/Settings to the new installation.
Highlight in 3.0.12:
You can now add user library folders, which will be included to the preset lists. So a nice library like "Rock Pack" from sorohanro can be fully integrated in the workflow
How to: just drop a preset folder onto the MuSynth or MUX play editor and it will be registered as a library folder. Btw, you can now also drop individual patch files on the play editor.

I'm glad that you understand what I'm talking aboutmutools wrote:Still a bit of a weak point, i know. It's on the whishlist. For now it can only be done using automated plugins. Editing the audio file it's what I want to avoid. I try non intrusive actions.
unrelated feature request:
can you have some notepad/ text writing-reading plugin in the program ? that would be very useful for demo songs (track by XXXX, copyrighted to XXXX), or tutorial files (look at the automation line in bar XXX where is controlled XXX parameter)...
