Bug:
I split an audio file into 8 equal parts, selected all and changed the length of the first part, hoping to change all parts in one go to have 8 (ie to apply the same change to the other seven).
I'm not sure if this is supposed to work but there was some genuine weirdness happening, too: While the first part was shortened by the desired amount, all the other parts were reduced to tiny fragments.
Trying the same operation but using the last part as my "master" created many copies of the part, all piled up in the same spot (I believe as many copies as I'd made splits).

Bug:
-Open MU.LAB 3.0.14.
-Record a sequence with the metronome turned on, loop mode turned off.
-Adjust the loop pointers so that the last (presumably best) couple of bars are being looped. Set Loop mode to 'on'.
-MU.LAB should play the looped part once, then stop and crash.
crashlog
I don't know if any of the finer points of this (metronome turned on, loop mode turned off to begin with) play a role in bringing about the crash but I thought I'd describe my steps as detailed as I could.
OSX 10.4.11

I'm on OS X 10.5.8 - Mac Intel - Digidesign Mbox - M3 Free
-Drag & drop Audio Files doesn't work (AIFF or WAV) ?
-Latency period when recording Audio (may be because of MBox ? I don't try any other sound card)
-Bugs with VST (Crash with Luxonix LFX1310) but I have to test more...
(All the new features of the M3 are great : Key shortcut,Relative audio file paths, and others... thanks !)

When you change the end position of a part, and multiple parts are selected, MU.LAB will make all selected parts to end at the same position.Bonteburg wrote:Bug:

Of course, it's not possible to set the end position of a part before its start.
This should explain what you saw.
Right?

There's indeed a bug!Bonteburg wrote:Bug:

It's already in there in M3 test versions
Fixed in the next version, which will be distributed within an hour.

Hmm, no, I was trying to perform a proportional edit of multiple audio files and it didn't work.mutools wrote:When you change the end position of a part, and multiple parts are selected, MU.LAB will make all selected parts to end at the same position.

When you have 3 parts:
1-3
5-7
9-11
and you change the second part's end point from 7 to 8 then result is:
1-8
5-8
9-9 +1 tick just to avoid it gets a null length
Hope this explains it, else let me know.

Well, in MU.LAB 2.7 when you had 8 equal parts, you could just select them all, change the length of one and they'd all be shorter by that amount.
In MU.LAB 3, this functionality is broken or has changed in a way I can't get my head around.
Compsotion grid: 16th

first segment reduced by 1/16th

MU.LAB 2.7

To be researched soon after 3.0.15.
I'll check this soon.-Latency period when recording Audio (may be because of MBox ? I don't try any other sound card)
Please let me know how other VSTs behave, thanks.Bugs with VST (Crash with Luxonix LFX1310) but I have to test more...

Thanks for elaborating. I'll research this asap after 3.0.15, which i'll release now because there were 2 too nasty bugs in 3.0.14.Bonteburg wrote:Well, in MU.LAB 2.7 when you had 8 equal parts, you could just select them all, change the length of one and they'd all be shorter by that amount.

Luxonix LFX1310 has been notoriously crashprone in all Mutools programs here starting from Luna - I seem to remember it didn't go down too well with Logic Express either.pyrmusic wrote: -Bugs with VST (Crash with Luxonix LFX1310) but I have to test more...

MU.LAB test 3.0.15 is available in http://www.mutools.com/mulab/azalea
Minimum full package needed: 3.0.12:
If you did not yet install 3.0.12, then a full install of the package is needed as things in the graphics folder and library have changed. If you want to keep your current settings, then copy all files in Mulab/Settings to the new installation.
If you already installed 3.0.12, then installing the newest application patch is sufficient.

Is it possible to add a Shortcut for "Zoom Selected"?
It would be terrific to be able to select a bunch of Notes or a Part and have them nicely Maximized and evenly spread in the window (view) similarly to the now implemented MMB double click "Zoom All".
It would produce the same effect but only considering the area encompassing the Selected items.
This would increase the speed of the workflow while composing, correcting etc.
I haven't seen this anywhere.... yet.

OK, then is the same as "Zoom All". I remember you said the same thing.mutools wrote:There is a technical difficulty with this. It's on the whishlist for a future release.
But you were able at least to use the MMB for "Zoom All" which works great!
So the difficulty must be for the shortcuts but it was OK for the mouse to do it.
Can then the MMB distinguish between two modes:
Nothing is selected = Zoom All
OR
Something is selected = Zoom There (Selected only)?
It is the same question but toward the the solution you've provided with the MMB/Zoom-All because I am not specific to the Shortcut solution (of course shortcuts are more than welcome and it is well worth the wait for them)
