Can MuLab Free and MuLab XT import & play a full standard midi file given the track limitations of 4 & 8?

It depends on the MIDI file.
A MIDI file with 16 tracks will only be partially played by MU.LAB FREE and MU.LAB XT.

Very Good!
BTW I didn't find the explanation about Right Click on the "Position" Area to Toggle the 2 displays (is that a Time Seconds counter?)

The docs don't list every single option in MU.LAB, that would be a huge job and a huge text that is read by only 1 or 2 persons, at max.
The docs are a reference guide telling you all you need to know to explore the app. Some things you can deduct yourself. The smaller the docs, the better, as that means the app is more self-explaining. That's a challenge
One important rule for MU.LAB: Right-click everywhere as each screen object may have a (rich) context menu.
Note that on top of the docs, there will also come tutorials which are more practical manuals on how to do this or that. But that's for later.
Anyway, i'm blah blah-ing. I've added a note about it in the next docs

Here is an intro slideshow on M3:
OSX: http://www.mutools.com/mulab/azalea/int ... o-wide.mov
Win: http://www.mutools.com/mulab/azalea/int ... o-wide.avi
These are preview versions. They first need to be downloaded, no streaming yet. Once the movie gets a green light, it will be uploaded in HD to YouTube.
Feedback welcome
(NB: the divx logo in the avi version won't be there in the final version)

MU.LAB test 3.0.31 is available in http://www.mutools.com/mulab/azalea
What's changed: http://www.mutools.com/mulab/azalea/mul ... hanges.txt
If you have already installed 3.0.24, you can simply apply the latest patch.

Some Feedback:
"Use Target Module Per Part" = no so clear... kind of indirect...
"Use Part To Target Module" = seems to tell the exact direction of signal and intention.
"Others" in the "Add Module" Contex menu could be changed to
"MuLab Components"
which would clarify and bring attention to the fact that those are MuLab Built-in "Extra Tools" (really "Bonuses" in the context of a DAW, sort of SynthEdit built in...
) and have nothing to do with third party stuff.
"Edit Sequence" button in the Part Property Panel could be used to go back to the Sequencer if it had 2 states. Also intuitive because it's a switch to begin with....
All the rest so far is marvelous!

Proper feedback about the slideshow will follow later, but right now I'm bursting say this:mutools wrote:Here is an intro slideshow on M3:

After distributing .31 i noticed too that that sentence was not 100% sounding ok. I already changed it into "Set Target Module Per Part" which sounds ok to me.liquidsound wrote: "Use Target Module Per Part" = no so clear... kind of indirect...

Surely not 'components' but 'modules' imho."Others" in the "Add Module" Contex menu could be changed to
"MuLab Components"
And when saying "MU.LAB Modules" it implicits that the others in the list are not MU.LAB, which is not true.
So i guess "Other MU.LAB Modules" is correct, but that's a bit long i guess.
I have some thoughts on this, but it's not the right time to elaborate on this. Please remind me on this in the m4 cycle, in a couple of months."Edit Sequence" button in the Part Property Panel could be used to go back to the Sequencer if it had 2 states. Also intuitive because it's a switch to begin with....
Thanks. Please stay very critical, especially for bugs. Thanks! All the rest so far is marvelous!

Is the "Per" that sound awkward not the sentence. Maybe more like "Using" or "By" or "Via" or "To".... (not so critical, but...)mutools wrote:After distributing .31 i noticed too that that sentence was not 100% sounding ok. I already changed it into "Set Target Module Per Part" which sounds ok to me.
"Extra Mu-Devices"?Surely not 'components' but 'modules' imho.

MU.LAB test 3.0.32 is available in http://www.mutools.com/mulab/azalea
What's changed: http://www.mutools.com/mulab/azalea/mul ... hanges.txt
It's recommended to do a full install.
How to keep your current settings:
Before running MU.LAB:
1) Delete the Mulab/User folder in the new installation
2) Copy your current Mulab/User folder in the new installation
Changed rack sends
While jamming with M3, i discovered an issue with the rack sends: When changing things in the Modular Area, there could arise a mismatch between the rack sends and the Modular Area.
I made a code change which should nicely fix the issue, in fact it's even an improvement of the system. This change should be almost transparant on user level.
But as we're so close to pre-release i would like to ask to focus on using rack sends: Insert, delete, replace, rename, rename the send target, change connections in the Modular Area, ... I think it's all fine, but please give it a serious test too. Thanks!
