was thinking about this the other day, what if synthmaster had some kind of "spectral-editor"(sort of alchemy has)that somehow would let you be able to draw in the sound/noise you would want
that would really make it a Uber-synth IMHO

So you want to be able to draw a waveform either in time or spectral domain? (Sorry for the DSP terms used like "domain")S-N-S wrote:was thinking about this the other day, what if synthmaster had some kind of "spectral-editor"(sort of alchemy has)that somehow would let you be able to draw in the sound/noise you would want

I actually kind of did something like that but didnt release it. I might refine the specifications for 2.2 and implement those in 2.2

ohh and something like this what be sweet (copy-pasted from alchemy website)
Alchemy lets you resynthesize existing audio files (WAV or AIFF) using spectral techniques as well as additive ones. Your choice may depend on the type of material: additive resynthesis is often preferred for sounds that project a single clear pitch, while spectral resynthesis is well suited to chords and noisy sounds. Alchemy can also perform resynthesis using a combination of the two techniques, which is useful for sounds that combine a clear pitch with a noisy component (e.g. the hammer strike of a piano, or the breath noise of a flute).

I think that there is still something to cover with the existing VA area. Like different mixing methods of the VA oscillators. I'd still love to see a Vector-module, which can blend 4 waves together. The bending process, and the wave properties would be available for automation.
Also, there are a number of generator module ideas in my mind. Such as a combined Phase distortion/Frequency modulation module with many operators, or a a wave-form drawing generator with drawing points whose can also be automated.
I'll explain my ideas soon, just my dad's going fishing and I wanna go with him, cheers
:p

This can already be achieved using two wavescanning oscillators. But if you are asking for a "vector" oscillator I can add that in 2.2, but that'll take a long time since Mac OSX VST/AU will come after 2.1 Release.rectus_dominus wrote:I think that there is still something to cover with the existing VA area. Personally, I don't really care about the time. Your interest and consideration matters more for me.
If I'm correct, the 2.1 will achieve a kind of 'complete' and stable feel, so it's a great idea to port that into a Mac version!

yeah would love vector oscillator,i really dont care about the time, just looking forward to what you implement, and think my suggestion would be sweet to have in synthmasterkv331 wrote:This can already be achieved using two wavescanning oscillators.
