Absolutely, I basically skipped last comp to work on this one and far advanced already.
Been very quiet here but partly my fault, I didn't see there already was an upload folder going so didn't put it up on the site. Rectified now though.
But can we ask to have this thread a sticky to get the attention back? An extension to the deadline is also a possibility if it turns out people thought this comp was 'dead'..
Was really expecting almost record entries here, would be a shame if only a handful came in.

OK, let's make some noise!! ... Since my last post, like about an hour ago? I've got my drum sounds and my bass together ... I'm using Wingystingy ... one of my own, freely available via my 4shared sig below, and if I remember correctly, it is a cross between Wasp, Simsynth and Dreamstation ... dunno what I'll use as my second synth, but Wingystingy seems to be good on the CPU, so I might be a rebel and rule out Synth1!! ... ha ha!!

Now got 7 instances running of Wingystingy ... and the guts of a track!

tattiemannie you might want to edit your OP - the bit where it says 'there are no prizes' should read 'WIN A U-HE ACE!!!'. (You could even put it in the thread title - that should draw the punters in
)

is drfusion different from drfusion2?crimsonwarlock wrote: At least how I see it; Dr. Fusion only uses the build-in samples as the basis of it's sound, On top of that each sound gets shaped completely with the synth controls that are available. So to me it hardly is a rompler and/or sample player.

" 7 layered samplers 2 kicks/2 snares/2 percussions/ hihats and (rides and crash).2 layered user samplers where you can load your own samples. 2 single samplers for close hihats and claps."
then in addition there's 2 synth modules for kick and tom in the bottom right but they are not sample based.

I really don't think I'll have the time to partecipate (just like I had to skip several OSC's lately, due to my fu**ing dayjob and other occurences), but just in case: I was going to use Drumatic 3 as well, is that allowed?

I was going for Drumatic + Synth1 and was slightly underwhelmed with Oatmeal that I tried in a song for the first time, but then tried it again on something else and find it completely different now, so think this will be my combo as well.olikana wrote:i think i'll make a track using drumatic3+oatmeal

As olikana says .. yeah, a drum synth is a synth ... so you can do as some ( who shall remain nameless
... as opposed to the screen-name of the originator of OSC
) .. and do your percussion by other means whilst you do your tonal sounds with 'one synth'
Cant help but think however, that the 'relaxed as hell' phrase in the rools is being overlooked

Track progressing nicely
I've decided on my second synth and it's working really well with Wingy Stingy ... MaxSynths' Galileo!!
This is a synth some of us really wanted to use in OSC, but some users had issues with it.
Its great to be able to use it at last ... great sounds, great tweakability, and easy on CPU. I think between the two synths I've chosen, I may end up with a personal record number of instances.
Right now I'm using 13x WingyStingy and 4x Galileo ... and on my 'toy' PC with it's miserly 512 memory, CPU is averaging 45% and peaking at 56% .... so a long way to go I think
