Hi folks,

Finally I added a new oscillator category that directly passes the audio input. Why we need that? To be able to pass the audio input through the filters and FX in SynthMaster :) Or even modulate the audio input with the modulators!

Also, I'm planning to add new carrier/modulator types for the vocoder such as:

Layer 1
Layer 2

So basicly you can use one layer as carrier and the other as the modulator in the Vocoder :tu:

I'm also planning to add a bandpass filter to the envelope detector for the audio input so that only a certain band in the audio input can be used as a modulator!

Sounds good, what about having midi inputs for triggering the envelopes?
Or what do others think about it?

Well, this feature kind of enables that I think, am I wrong?

Hmm, I'm not really sure. I think that envelope detectors have more room for fault than a midi detector. But I don't want to write down stupidities, so please ask a dev who has implemented envelope detecting (like Urs Heckmann or Rob Papen) for advice on these.

Right now the Vocoder seems backward to me in you adjust the opposite direction for amount of.

Last build was better.

Please get rid of pink and put all presets/sounds in it.

Hey kids, I'm behind on SM and want to know if the new FX version will work as an arpeggiators? thanks :)

If you mean: triggering audio using the arpeggiator, and passing it through the processing blocks in SynthMaster? Yes you can do very interesting effects! Just use an osc of type "audio in" :D

Apparently we had missing features for the "audio input" oscillators, but tonight's build will fix those.

So, how will it work?

Audio input (sidechain) is passed through a "prefilter" and then an "envelope follower". The "prefilter" can be lowpass (lp2->lp2), highpass (hp2->hp2) or bandpass (hp2->lp2). With the "prefilter", the envelope of different bands of the audio input can be detected, just as in a de-esser. This detected envelope signal can be used as a global modulator that modulates any continuous parameter in SynthMaster.

I also added triggering so that if the envelope is above a certain threshold (user adjustable too), a MIDI note on message is generated. The note number/velocity of the note is again adjustable by the user. Similarly, when the envelope is below threshold, a MIDI note off message is generated. This way SynthMaster can operate as an FX box without any MIDI input.

How does one go about using the "audio in" function on synthmaster in Cubase?

It doesn't appear to allow me to route audio to it? Do I have to activate an input from within the synth?
