WOW, what an interesting synth! At first, I was confused because it seemed like you were selling a 'synthmaker' type of product, as opposed to a vsti per se!
Now that I have read into it a little further, I'm quite impressed, ESPECIALLY by your willingness to interact with us softsynth enthusiasts here on KVR....
I will buy this shortly (as in a few minutes), but I wanted to post this first:
My list of priorities:
1.) Sound, sound, sound. The fundamental audio quality of the synthesizer engine. And it's uniqueness: What audio characteristics distinguish it from 10,000 others?
2.) UI. I may end up staring at it for hours on end, so looks and ergonomics should NOT be underestimated. Is it easy to work with, or will I pull (what's left of) my hair out? GOOD: The fact that you can re-skin synthmaster *could* be a huge plus for you guys.
3.) A userbase! Done by you hanging out here; selling what you got cheap; selling a lot of it ('word of mouth' *here* can make that happen, and group buys); actually supporting what you're selling with bug-fixes and feature adds/upgrades.
It may be cheese and crackers for a while; but if you stay focused and true to your product and yourselves, you have the greatest chance for success.
OK: One of the BIG sonic improvements that could happen to ANY synth is so simple, but difficult to implement in software. What I REALLY like about Sonic Projects' OP-X series is that although it is based on synthedit and samples, they sampled each voice card which is used once per voice (2X in the OP-X PRO II) giving the end-user a unique voice for every note.
Let me repeat that with emphasis: A unique voice for every note.
The difference is subtle, to be sure, but you can hear it in the mix. No question. Just like the real deal.
SP also does the same thing with their filters: Each voice (note) has it's own *slightly* different filter cut-off frequency (adjustable); again mimicing the hardware that it emulates.
As far as I'm concerned: Sonic Projects 'gets it'; that's why I'm a SP fanboi.
Anyway: I wish you guys success; and am now going to buy synthmaster.
Best wishes, guys!

Actually, our "default" saw/tri/sqr waveforms are based on Mopho, and we sampled at every 6 semitones, and the inbetween notes are interpolated.goldenanalog wrote: Let me repeat that with emphasis: A unique voice for every note.

With the mod matrix, in the version I have (downloaded it today) these two parameters are the only ones I noticed missing from the target dropdown menus.kv331 wrote:Modulate with what?Prajch wrote:Ability to modulate distortion attack/decay times?

I see. I can make them modulateable, even tonight! howwever they will only be modulateable with "global" parameters, not "voice" parameters. "Voice" parameters work per voice btw.Prajch wrote: With the mod matrix, in the version I have (downloaded it today) these two parameters are the only ones I noticed missing from the target dropdown menus.

Cool, glad to hear that! So how come they have to be modulated globally? Doesn't each voice have its own distortion module? And if not how come you can modulate other distortion parameters with voice-level sources?kv331 wrote:I see. Also I noticed there's a few global things (like the synth LFOs, those are global right?) that can be modulated by voice parameters. Does that mean each new voice would override the modulation the last voice was generating?
Just a little mixed up over the details, could use some help!

global parameters are not supposed to be modulated by voice parameters. if mod matrix dropdowns allow that, that's a bug! I'll fix that as well.
There are 2 distortions:
1) inside the filter: those can be modulated by voice params+global params
2) as layer fx: those can be modulated by global params only

Ah ok, now I understand. I just noticed setting up a voice -> global matrix routing crashes the host once you actually turn the FX on so I suppose it was a bug indeed. Do you think we could ever get a switch for per-voice FX? I know it's probably very cpu intensive if the poly is high, but linking keytrack or an envelope to S/H interval can make interesting sounds, for example.kv331 wrote:global parameters are not supposed to be modulated by voice parameters. if mod matrix dropdowns allow that, that's a bug! Well, maybe I should add at least LoFi as a per voice effect as well.
Will think about that in version 2.6+

But in Synthmaster, if I play almost any triad (let's say: CEG), the probability is high that 2 out of the 3 notes in the triad will be based on the same sample, assuming you sampled every 6 semitones. Correct?kv331 wrote:Actually, our "default" saw/tri/sqr waveforms are based on Mopho, and we sampled at every 6 semitones, and the inbetween notes are interpolated.goldenanalog wrote: Let me repeat that with emphasis: A unique voice for every note.
With the OP-X, if you play ANY (2) triads, you will be hearing the samples of 6 different OB-X voicecards!
Plus the 6 different filters associated with each voicecard!
Adjustable detuning is also built into the equation; this all sums up to a very accurate emulation of what happens when you play a REAL OB-X.
To put it another way: the fundamentals of the hardware 'flowchart' itself are sampled, and realized in software.
The bottom line is that you do, indeed, get an individual voice for every single note that you play...as is true in much of the 'analog' world.
Anyway: I did buy Synthmaster; keep hanging out here and talking (listening) to us, and we'll try to help you make a really good product (I'm impressed with Synthmaster!) even more desireable.

When installing the plugin, I'd like a standard installer like all the other plugin's I own..
Makes it a bit more professionaaal
Also a big for me is when I switch presets.. there's a pop when doing so ,I'd like that to be removed..
thank you

There's a "reason" why I dont do that. Not that I cant. Actually, here's what I can do: You'll download a zip archive again, but there'll be an installer app inside the zip file so it'll guide you for installatin?bobbybland wrote:When installing the plugin, I'd like a standard installer like all the other plugin's I own..Makes it a bit more professionaaal
