But, of course, if a majority prefer the 3 vote system that's fine by me.
The only thing I'm strongly for with these contests is that, so far as is possible, those who participate in the contests also get involved in making the decisions.
So anyone who has any views on this issue, or suggestions for the next theme, please speak up...

Now I'm running into some trouble...
Not sure if it's good form to discuss technique before the contest, but since learning is more important than competition here goes...
How would you add a snare as 1/4 notes into the Amen Break using Zebrify?
It's easy to set up noise, and use a square LFO at 1/4 notes for volume, but how do you synch it up?
On my hosts (Orion and Podium) I've convinced myself that it's not possible because LFO's don't get triggered like global LFOs (which are not in Zebrify), and there are not midi notes to use gate on.
Best regards,
Gino

One thing I've figured out is that the loop start and end for the MSEG are not defined in the initialize patch (you need to define those manaully). The first time you wire up a MSEG, it does not seem to work, then the next time you load the patch it starts working.
Still trying to figure out how to reliably get the MSEG to work in Zebrify without midi notes driving it.
Best regards,
Gino

Someone correct me but I don't believe Urs has addressed that sync issue yet.Gino Cortesi wrote:Still trying to figure out how to reliably get the MSEG to work in Zebrify without midi notes driving it.

Bazille for the next contest sounds cool and I'd say; keep the 3 vote poll if less than ~30 patches and upgrade to 5 if more submissions or something like that.hakey wrote:But, of course, if a majority prefer the 3 vote system that's fine by me.

The MSEG has the same issue as the LFOs. You can set up patterns with them, but can not synch them to the host. The timing of your patterns is dependent on when you press play.
Anyone know a workaround to this?
I typically use midi notes with Zebrify so I wasn't aware of this limitation.
If true, it means we can't add synched effects (1/8, 1/4, beats for example) with Zebrify to an auidio clip. Since we're working with a drum beat that's really limiting (unless we find a way to do it).

Gino
