Sounds like a good idea.bmrzycki wrote:Maybe we should extend the deadline for presets by a week; I can't see how we can run a contest with 2 participants...
I was going to submit mine at the last minute, but even then that would only make 3 entrants...
I wonder why there's been such a low turn out? So far I've had 48 downloads of that Amen sample I put up.

if you extend the deadline, I'd quite certainly find the time to patch something together. I haven't done anything with Zebrify yet so my output might not be too exciting but I'd do my best:-)
I'm confident I will find time next weekend. Would make at least one more participant
Best,
V

Having a minimum number of entrants makes sense. If we don't hit that number, it's bragging rights only
No idea what that number should be, but since you guys have run many contests, what's considered a solid turnout?
Extending the deadline sounds fair. We're allowed to update our entries, correct?
(seeing that abstract cats got a compliment implies mine need some work
)
Best regards,
Gino

10 entrants seems about right.Gino Cortesi wrote:what's considered a solid turnout?

Of course!
I'd be interested to hear from those who dl'ed the sample but decided not to enter anything - what put you off? The sample? Zebrify? Something else?

I downloaded the sample and hoped to put something together for the contest but just haven't had the time to put towards making a good patch for it.

How's it going guys?
I won't make it either taking part in this contest, but hope that I'll have time and can't wait for the Bazille patch contest!
Busy with some Zebra related activity!
Busy with some other Zebra related activity as well
.. this time for the community!

I have to admit that although I was one of the people that voted for a Zebrify contest, I'd forgotten that the idea was Zebrify for a specific sample, which didn't really interest me. I've previously pottered with Zebrify in an attempt to make it a poor man's guitar synth (bass guitar, actually). So that's more where my Zebrify interests lie. I didn't even download the Amen break sample.
Sorry about contributing to the low turnout.
As it happens, the guitar synth idea doesn't really work well in Zebrify because (IIRC) you can only (re)trigger envelopes etc. via MIDI and not some kind of transient detection.
