no no, <wink>, but hardly you could play the whole range with a MIDI guitar, to have that
I should build a dedicated engine

ps. wait, maybe you can,
you need to set the pitchbend at 12 semitones for compatibility to MIDI guitar,
but you don't bend that wide, do you?

Hi Luigi

I'm DEFINITELY interested in doing some factory presets :). I enjoyed doing sounds for you before and would have a blast with whatever you come up with for 2.0.

Computer setup:

Windows XP, 3 Ghz CPU, 512 MB RAM, Host software: Chainer, FL Studio, Minihost

I usually set pitchbend from guitar to midi converter/controller to 12 semitones so 12 should be good on vst.
If a synth can only do 2 semitones, I think I might have a problem.
At least -12 low to +12 high is good.

Ok, I know that, but I mean when you play how far do you bend a string?

Betatesting was started in November 2010, suspended in January this year for other jobs, now we're again on it and the Windows VSTi is mostly ready.
Stay tuned

Here are the specs:

What's new in Modelonia 2.0

Sound Engine Update and Upgrade

1) Two macro sliders are now available for realtime sound morphing:
Gain macro linked to MIDI CC 45 by default
XM macro linked to MIDI CC 46 by default

2) The "Smooth" switch has now a different function:
up to Modelonia 1.8 it was used to change the ADSR shape, now in 2.0 it turns on
a set of DC filters that change the behaviour of both models Strings and Horn.

3) The "PE" switch has been extended to a knob control.
up to Modelonia 1.8 it turned on the "pressure emitter" in the Horn exciter,
now in 2.0 it adjust the PE in the right half turn (marked with a green curve),
and it switches to an alternative algorithm when used in the left half (marked with a red curve),
this new feature take better advantage of the external exciters, relatively to the "Lips" module,
those are the Noise module and the String module via "XM to Horn".

4) The harmonic waveshapers controlled by the "Modif" switches A and B, in the Horn module,
have been updated. Especially the B type features now a more filtered sound.

5) The "coupling fx" (the "CP" switch in "String" module) features now a stronger
harmonic enhancement.

6) The A/B switch in the FX module adds now a soft Chorus to the Reverb, Chorus can be used alone as well, with Reverb mix at zero.

7) The bottom pane with the microtuning sliders is now hidden by default,
when then microtuning selection is hidden
four VU meters, AP EQ and the macro sliders are showed.

8 ) New powerful equalizer in the output fx chain. This new AP EQ features two fully adjustable
shelving filters.

9) Vastly improved Mono Legato mode for enhanced realism in solo playing
of wind instruments and similar hybrid ones.

###

Such modifications allow a great new range of sounds, previously unheard.

About the betatesting, I think to setup a private forum so that it should be easier to track all comments and report, there should be at least 3 weeks more of betatesting for the Windows VSTi 32-bit, then would come the 64-bit and the AU for Mac.

Modelonia betatesting forum is at
http://forum.dashsignature.com

Which is empty right now, until who already started
the betatesting (or new ones) would register there.
So please do that if you'd like to be a betatester for Modelonia.

Thanks

no comments? I thought those sounds were pretty interesting, some kind of medioeval-baroque instruments, good for soft electronica and indie pop

liq:
nice "brassage" sounds !
it worth to have a full medieval sound bank.
i bet a good IR verb would make it even better !
i started to like it more than Tassman lately.
