hmm, I'm getting the same messages (skin.xml) and 'no preset folder' in Cubase 5.
I've followed the directions to the letter, twice, they weren't that complex even for an old man..but I wonder if I did something wrong..

That should work perfectly, weird, but wait... you said
C:\Documents and Settings\Gary\NUSofting Data\Modelonia
it should be
C:\Documents and Settings\Gary\My Documents\NUSofting Data\Modelonia

Great job anyway, you fixed that, both in Orion and FL Studio? And for the 'error reading wizard file'bluedad wrote:![]()

just copy this file (right click on the link and Save As...)
http://dashsignature.com/download/sound%20wizard.xml
into the
..\My Documents\NUSofting Data\Modelonia\
as "sound wizard.xml"
just it was missing, my fault.
Thanks

This version at least loads in NI Kore 2, unlike the last one, but if I click on the interface I get the spinning "busy" icon and then it goes pale as if about to crash. If I try and click again it does crash.

Ooops - it's doing the same in Reaper only I don't even have to click

It's OK I had it in the wrong folder. Sorted now.
However none of my old projects open - if I try and open any of the Kore Sounds or the template I made with the previous version I get the endless spinny waiting icon and then a crash. Also trying to load any of my own xml sounds doesn't seem to work from the load dialogue - only if I place them in the same presets folder and use the arrows which takes forever. Isn't there a way to see the all at once (like a drop down or something)?

Also some of my old xml presets sound different and some don't even make a sound now - again (this seems to happen with every update - I've lost track)

Hi aMUSEd,aMUSEd wrote:Also some of my old xml presets sound different and some don't even make a sound now - again (this seems to happen with every update - I've lost track)
yes that's right, I'm aware that it can be frustrating, like:"I had a wonderful preset in 1.7 and now it sounds bad in 2.0",
but I can't do differently since the evolving "nature" of the Modelonia engine, it's not easy to explain, anyway I work hard to keep 80% of the old sounds, but I also choose to expand the main algorithm, therefore the engine changes its "nature" and some of the past interactions get lost. But there's the gain of new ones.
Later for the other issues.
Cheers

OK but if that's the case it would be beter if it was a new version completely so I could still use the old one. Plus that doesn't explain why it won't load old projects.

mm... yes actually I could indeed release it a new one, would that really be better?,aMUSEd wrote:OK but if that's the case it would be beter if it was a new version completely so I could still use the old one. Plus that doesn't explain why it won't load old projects.
(for old projects loading, that was a bug, fixed in next beta update)

It would mean my old sounds could still be used (except in Kore if you recall it wasn't loading anyway since I moved to Win 7 - which that could be fixed in the 1.7 line)liqih wrote:mm... yes actually I could indeed release it a new one, would that really be better?,aMUSEd wrote:OK but if that's the case it would be beter if it was a new version completely so I could still use the old one. My resources are limited and I can't keep a "1.7 line" on its own, I would rather work to have your old sounds (very nice BTW) playing again in 2.0
