How important is VST3 support for you as a customer

"Know about Steinberg's hosts in detail". You really don't understand what an API even is, do you? It's so you DON'T need to know anything about a host to work with it.

But there is a difference between knowing an API and knowing a host. You have seen the API, but don't seem to fully understand Cubase, which doesn't specifically stick to the API on everything, hence your question about what was limited.

So there is a difference, and in terms of that particular conversation, knowing the API didn't matter.
