I just tried this with Cubase -- in both the u-he program folder and Cubase's u-he folder for VST Plugins. No luck here either :/

Post

Ok good then there must be some other error or we are 2 people who cant read properly =D

Yep, not working here either, Win 7 on Reaper 3.66. I tried all sorts of renaming of files to see the longer names in the automation, no luck. I even tried exiting Reaper and coming back in to do a full Zebra reload. I think it's not using the file on Windows. I'll try to check Mac later this week.

Anything new on this?

I'm having the same issue with Zebra and Podium on Windows.

Best Regards,

Gino

Yep, this renaming method doesn't seem to work with Reaper... Any ideas why, Urs?

Post

Hmmm.

If you open com.u-he.Zebra2.publicparams.txt in Wordpad and rename "X1" into, say "Xaxis1" anmd restart Reaper... what happens?

And which verison of Zebra are you using?

Post

Here's the first few lines of that file. I presume // is comment, right?

0: main:CcOp:"Output" //main: Main Loop Circuit->Output
1: main:#LFOG:"Active #LFOG" //main: Main Loop Circuit->Active #LFOG
2: main:#LFOG2:"Active #LFOG2" //main: Main Loop Circuit->Active #LFOG2
3: PCore:X_1:"X1" //PCore: Core->X1

I also presume I only need to change the stuff between " ". I did so, and no change in Reaper's parameter list (using latest Reaper 3.76 and latest Reaper 4alpha67, same results). Even more strange, doesn't work in FL8 either. What's the folder in which that .txt file needs to be? Z2.5 here.

Post

The file should be here (Win):

..\Vstplugins\Zebra2.data\Support\

If you change

3: PCore:X_1:"X1"

to

3: PCore:X_1:"Xaxis1"

That should do thd trick... if not... then... I'll put it on my long list of bugs to look into...

However, it's also possible that hosts have a chache for parameter names. That would be evil...

Post

Yep, did it exactly like that and no change. I'll try with a fresh Reaper install. As far as I know, Reaper doesn't have a cache for parameter names - it just uses .ini files.

However the fact that it doesn't work for me in FL8 is also quite weird. Thanks for putting it on a list!
