In a way it's almost good the hack happened before you went live. This means the real launch of the site will be secure and ready (well, as ready as any site can be) for the internet hooligans. Still sucks humans do this.

Tried a bunch of automated hacking tests on the new website... nothing
Also, we found a way to exclude people who use common hacker requests ("dorks") from our webserver alltogether. They'll be directed to a site where they're asked to subscribe to a newsletter... will be fun to see if any of them really leave an email address...

Similar, yes. They modified our phpBB so that banned users would be activated again. Very similar to the HH Apple Store event
