i should not care about voting, 'cause i don't undertand how & on what is voted.
For a number of reasons all patch submitters are expected to vote.

And voting is anyway pretty straightforward - just choose and list your favourite three patches in order.

If you have a problem with understanding any of the instructions, I'm sure that someone here will be happy to explain things in German for you.

Some pretty nifty DX7 programming here:

I'am in! yeah!

Hmmm. Too bad we can't use regular oscillators as sine modulation sources. That would've allowed more sophisticated 6 operator algorithms.

started working on some patches. this challenge is pretty entertaining !

Yes, that would have been my choice, but we had the discussion in the contest suggestion thread and more people were in favour of just the FMOs.

That's democracy for you.

OK, I'm putting on my flame armor... :hihi:

I'm really enjoying this contest, but I'm scratching my head on how to leverage unison voices for FMO's in Zebra.

For a regular OSC, you can do single-to-"eleven", then detune and pan. Easy.

To get deep FM patches, I'm finding I'm very dependent on stacking detuned unison voices (in other FM VSTs).

Is this simply a limitation of Zebra?

Best regards,

Gino

In so far as FMO's don't have the ability to stack and detune voices that the Osc modules do, yes. But not really what I'd call a limitation - it's just that's how it is.

(would love to see some kind of global unison/voice-stacking/chord-memory type feature in Zebra)

Here are some basic FM synthesis vids.
If you've already seen them, be sure to watch them again with Zebra ready to feed some FMOs! :)

Very interesting, thanks for sharing! :)
Part 2 of the FM series (EPISODE 005) isn't uploaded yet, right? ..or am I missing something?

I'll give a copy of my Soliton sound set to the 1st place winner of this competition.
It's this set for Zebra.
