Using battered casework we salvaged from old Soviet Union submarine radio equipment that was languishing and due for cruel and ruthless de-commisioning, our intrepid explorers risked life and limb to bring you this to be re-purposed at HS Towers for thoroughly modern sounds in retro style. Although the casework looks a bit distressed, behind that rusty, chipped exterior is a modern heart throbbing with an altogether more youthful muscle!
With two 'super' oscillators featuring thick, detuned sawtooths (which we call 'iSaw' here at HS Towers) that pass through a multimode, dual slope filter, two envelopes, two LFOs, a pitch EG, mono and poly playback modes with glide, etc., Techtron offers instant 'techno' sounds that are powerful, wide, bright, brash, fizzy and anthemic and yet also capable of chunky basses, spiky arpeggios, thick leadlines and lush, luxuriously smooth pads plus dark, broody and moody textures. There is also a powerful arpeggiator with a wide variety of patterns.
It also comes with a comprehensive chain of multi-FX comprising EQ, distortion, cab simulation, chorus, phase shifting, rotary cab, echo and convolved reverb with a wide range of impulses from authentic spring reverbs to languid ambiences ... and there are 32 presets to get you started with 32 slots to save your own creations.
It's quite a departure from previous MLMs with its brash, modern tonalities but it makes an interesting contrast to the rest of the series and sure to find a place in your work.
If nothing else, it really is a lot of fun and Techtron is available now, costing a modest $10.
