I've been having fun processing envelopes in Bazille, using the rectifiers (with some negative offset) and sample and hold to get some funky modulations going. I still wish I could modulate the envelope stages independently but even global VC of rate from CV1 and 2 would be nice.

When Maths is functioning as an envelope you can send it's output back to the Attack or Decay CV inputs allowing you to manipulate the shape of each stage independently. I think your envelopes would have to be evaluated at audio rate for something like that to work. I'm not saying this is something the Berlin Modular synths should do but I was trying to think of an instance where audio rate control over an envelope might be important.

Urs wrote:Hmmm, there are not many synths that let you control envelope parameters in audio rate. In ACE you can at least have envelopes modulate themselves afaiaa in a higher rate than e.g. the Virus.MitchK1989 wrote:
Hi there Urs!
How can i make the envelopes in ACE modulate themselves?? They only have outputs.
Thx a lot

You can add each envelope to its own rate modulationpoint.source wrote:How can i make the envelopes in ACE modulate themselves?? They only have outputs.

(level modulation does not work... snake biting its own tail problem - you'd only ever get silence)

Didn't your mother ever warn you about self modulation? You'll go blind!point.source wrote:Urs wrote:Hmmm, there are not many synths that let you control envelope parameters in audio rate. Hi there Urs!
Thx a lot for the reply!
I'm not quite sure how to do that, can you post a screenshot, if possible?
It would be nice, for the coming versions, if you could add more options to modulate the envelopes the same way we can do in the Virus.
Eg. We can have the filter or amp envelope as sources to modulate their decay or attack times, not the whole envelope

Yes, but it's nothing like a usable synth... and thus not published yet :-pn0rd wrote:Is there an Alpha for DIVA (like Bazille)?

Does it still look like the mess you posted some time ago?Urs wrote:Yes, but it's nothing like a usable synth... and thus not published yet :-pn0rd wrote:Is there an Alpha for DIVA (like Bazille)?

So, perhaps I went slightly nutty on the topic of quick knob-style interactions with on-screen parameters, but I think I might actually be where I want. In the (unlikely) case anybody else was loosing sleep and the ability to focus on actual patches and music etc. -xh3rv wrote:something complicated!
Practical kung fu for synth patching:
Found an app called QuicKeys that does pretty well with automating mouse movements on OS X, and a Logitech NuLooq navigator which is sort of a jog-wheel with a touch-pad dial on top with good configuration options. After some careful use of macros, it's pretty quick to point with a mouse (actually I've been using a trackball here) and tweak with the knobby hardware.
In the end what it actually makes me wonder a bit is, wouldn't it make sense to frankenstein typical USB human interface stuff and MIDI-via-USB hardware? Like a keyboard with a jogwheel and a touch-pad would be very functional IMO.

I do the exact same thing with one of these:xh3rv wrote:In the end what it actually makes me wonder a bit is, wouldn't it make sense to frankenstein typical USB human interface stuff and MIDI-via-USB hardware? Like a keyboard with a jogwheel and a touch-pad would be very functional IMO.
Contour ShuttleXpress. The software driver allows you to make the inner jog wheel act as a mouse scroll wheel. If Zebra allowed for shift+wheel to do fine adjustments I'd almost never need to reach for the (typing) keyboard.
I've thought about attaching one of these to a touch screen and writing an app to do what you mentioned. But so far that's a whole different can of worms. If you want to discuss the idea more feel free to PM me.

I got an Cooler Master Inferno mouse http://www.cmstorm.com/en/products/peripherals/inferno/ and you can do some cool stuff with macros and scripts. I made one now after reading this thread where it leftclick+shift+move cursor down 10 units+unshift+unleftclick+move cursor up 10 unitsbmrzycki wrote:I do the exact same thing with one of these:

12ms delay between all actions so it doesnt work very smoothly .. however, shift+mousewheel .. that would be awesome

You could get an even simpler mouse with just a few extra buttons of which one is assigned to shift. I press a button with my thumb and move the mouse .. but what i dont like is that sometimes i hit the top of the screen and have to go back to the (usually small) knob and continue and it's also kind of annoying having to move back your mouse - this is where scrollwheel comes into place
