I've been seeing what just one instance of Zebra can do. I got inspired by the drumkit contest that was hosted here awhile ago, and I expounded on the formula...and some things came to light:
The pros about kits like this are:
*Easy to manage.
*Instantly playable.
*They have that Zebra mojo.
*Perfect for live performance.
The cons are:
*You're going to encounter mixing problems in detailed projects because Zebra only has one Audio out
as far as I know.
*These kits in particular have no real tom drums, because of the way I used the modmaps.
(With that said, I'd love to see another modmap module or two in Zebra.)
*Depending on what you're doing with them, they may become CPU intensive.
This was mostly for fun, until I realized that you could really make spectacular kits with Zebra. I wonder if anyone would buy a bank of, say, a dozen of these kits for something like $10-$15? Of course I'd have to come up with a variety of different approaches to achieve complimentary and worthy timbres, but that's the fun part!
